Any idea why this happens? Real potential for disaster for me. While I do not do long finds that frequently, it always seems to catch me off guard when some odd file disappears because I hit the delete key and then remember there's a find running so I have to be very careful..... I have a large di...

Wondering if it's possible to use the technique described above for program controls (forgive my possible misuse of terms). It may sound strange but I've developed a habit of using "Start playing media files immediately" for special folders and not for most others. Needless to say it's te...

Getting a handle on handles
Noticed today that x2 was using a lot of win32 handles (allocated a lot of win32 handles ?). About 40,000 when I shut x2 down. I'm not sure I understand the effects (on the system) of apps having a huge number of allocated handles or what this implies the app is doing. The total for my system rar...

preview window and folders
I would like to turn off showing folder icons in the preview window. This process takes forever (as long as 30 seconds) to format that display. multimedia files all seem to be read to come up with the icons... I see the divx icon popping in and out of the system tray for vids...etc. And all because ...

folder tabs and search
1 Is there a way to file search (find function) in only the current folder tab set? 2 Also, when I select a different folder group, should it replace the currently open tabs? I have one group of 10 folders that is causing a problem. When I select another group (say one containing 3 folders), I end ...

folder context menu hangs
Hi, I'm having a intermittent problem with folder context menus. I have not identified any special circumstances or environment in place when this error occurs. I run xplorer2 in 2 pane mode (no tree). When I right click a folder I get the -busy- cursor then I get the -busy in background- cursor the...

Thanks for all the suggested things to look at....I'll continue to explore. This morning I noticed I seem to be able to create a problem merely by right clicking a file! The context menu pops up. I do not select anything from the menu. Then I backspace to go up a level and try to delete the folder (...

file/folder allocation hair pulling.....
Having a problem with files/folders (f/fs) remaining allocated to xplorer2. Trying to delete these f/fs always produces the hated msg "sorry, file in use". Looking deeper into this I have found that these f/fs are indeed held by xplorer2. This usually is due to my having launched the file,...
