Re: blog: batch convert AVI to MP4
I think the take-away is the inconsistency of the variables. Perhaps $P should not have the backslash appended if the current folder is the root. If someone has defined their movie subfolder to be a SUBST drive, then that appears like a root directory, and scripts that "assume" no backslas...

Re: blog: batch convert AVI to MP4
The script in your text doesn't match the script in the image of the dialog box. There is a problem in your example because the double backslash happens when using $P to substitute in the ROOT folder. The movies need to be in a folder other than the root for this script to work. The double quote is ...

Eclipse 2024
Just returned from a 1000 mile drive, each way, to view the eclipse in northeast Texas. Clouds cleared off just in time to watch most of the eclipse and all four minutes of totality. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ViBXe9QFlqTyeW9KBS_DQTuuLplu2KvK/view?usp=sharing --------------- PJ [back] in FL

Re: checkboxes
An example of checkboxes that works as I expect it to is in the YAHOO mail application. Clicking a box toggles the checkbox. If I check boxes, then even if I view an email and return to the list, the boxes are still checked. A parallel would be if switching to an already opened panes or tab, then re...

Re: v6
Does "Sticky selection" not do what you want? Sticky selection loses previous selections if "click-to-select" is followed by "shift-click-to-select" to add a list of files between the last selection and the current selection. If you include ctrl key when clicking the s...

Re: blog: dark mode listview controls
is this affecting your xplorer2? i don't think so!? This "feeture" shows up in browsers, Office programs like Word, and other places that are not as user friendly as x2. Just wanted to voice my approval of x2's current handling of scroll bars, and let you know some are not impressed with ...

Re: v6
A few years back, during a discussion about click-and-drag, a suggestion to add checkboxes to a file list was made to use the boxes to simplify selection of multiple files and avoid the pitfalls of ctrl and ctrl-shift selections. I'd like to raise that suggestion again. Perhaps as a toolbar option o...

Re: blog: dark mode listview controls
During all the modifying of themes and such, I ask you to NOT implement one "feeture" that has popped up in recent versions of programs: - DISAPPEARING SCROLL BARS  The Devil himself must have requested that function. I will "sacrifice" the small column of screen space on ...

Sort of Filter Folders based on DESKTOP.INI Icon
Nikos,
I often use Kilmatead's (May he rest in peace ) Folder Color add-on to add an icon for visual identification, etc.
Is there any way to sort or filter the folders based on the icon?

OK, I see that works using alt-H.
Could communication be set up between alt-H filtering and quick filtering?

Re: Quick Filter Field String Shown on per Tab basis
Just tried Alt-H and didn't get that result.
I have a quick filter of ".s" applied to a tab, selected the tab, pressed Alt-H and the word "evolution" was in the Named field.
What did I do wrong?

Re: Quick Filter Field String Shown on per Tab basis
I can always duplicate a filter by selecting the filter string in the box (ctrl-a), selecting the tab to filter then pasting the string back into the box (ctrl-c). What's missing is the indication of the filter is applied. Regular filters don't provide that information either that I'm aware of, nor,...
