Robust Paste Structured Scrap Clips
Freeing our fileserver from old stuff requires me to go through all the project folders, select files we don't need any more and moving them to a backup drive. There is no criteria that allows for an automatic process here, because it depends on many things if a file is still needed or not. Putting ...

Are the files you are trying to remove readonly or locked by other application? Can you delete them manually after copying to other folder? Sometime, yes, but actually this time there seems to be a bug (or a glitch with my widnows configuration) that when using PSSClips with a folder that contains ...

Here is one way to do it 4. Select all the files from scrap pane using Ctrl+A and press Ctrl+X 5. Switch back to main Xplorer2 window and go inside c:\Hold4Delete\Windows folder (create if it does not exist) 6. Right click inside the folder and choose Paste Special->Structured scrap clips. Sorry fo...

The "Look in" specification is invalid (???)
Hi Nikos, hi group, I tried to search in a folder named: "C:\temp\080723.Patch fuer beide Spiele, beseitigt SSaver-Bug" but I always get: The "Look in" specification is invalid Another folder in the same parent folder is searchable fine. I guess x2 gets confused by the long filen...

you seem to have a phd in deep sync with x2 so i can't help you much :) Hehe, yeah in fact I invented deep syncing ;-) i've lost faith in deep sync for some time, since it is a headache at best. I do your option #2 ie i leave it to robust copy to synchronize without checking what goes where. For ba...

defining a filter in robust copy dialog
Hi! I've got another one: I just wanted to copy only files that have their archive bit set (funny enough I had to specify "a" and "A" as find conditions to find all files, but that might have to do with that external ethernet hard drive) and noticed a small usability glitch: When...

Just to be sure: x2 can't sync *folders* ?
Hi! x2 is one of the tools I can't live without anymore, so I just want to make sure I understood everything right before looking to another tool to do what I need to do. I want to deep-sync two folders on different drives, see what's going to happen before I do it *and* use robust copy. Searching t...

Strange: filter works on all files in a dir, except one
Hi! This problem is so strange I did not even know what to search this forum for, so if there's a thread please point me to. I have set up a filter for a robust copy. It says *.* with an additional rule "NOT Name = .svn" and it works for all files inside an .svn folder, except for the &quo...

I'm trying to get a quick fix in ... ok i think i patched it, back to debug mode for a while! :P that's why I love x2!!! Thanks Nikos. Looking forwar...

Answering myself: structured scrap clips obviously only works for files, not for folders. If I copy files contained in different folders it works. If I try to copy folders contained in different parent folders I get an error message. Is that true? Makes pasting structured scrap clips much less usefu...
