Re: SizeES: A Plugin for Fast, Persistent FolderSizes in x2 via Everything Search
Yeah, I never had Turbo Pascal on a PC, largely because I didn't have a PC at the time. I had an aging Commodore 64 (with a floppy begged from the local shop on permanent "loan") which ran a variant of Pascal - and I used that to write a C emulator in anticipation of actually getting not o...

Re: SizeES: A Plugin for Fast, Persistent FolderSizes in x2 via Everything Search
Given that Niklaus Wirth (the bloke who invented Pascal, and thus by extension Delphi) just died last January 1st, it would have been timely indeed to honour the man (had I thought of it). That being said, I've never used Lazarus, so it doesn't tend to pop into the mind as a tool. Nor, oddly enough,...

Re: v6 released
...gradually properties now residing in external Advanced options tool will be moved into Tools > Options You know, had you actually led with that statement earlier, we (I?) might have been a little nicer to you. And that's a hard thing for someone like me to admit. Just a little nicer, mind, not e...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.13 beta
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against OC, all this stuff's a preference - there's no end of stuff I'd change in x2 if I could (Nikos != UI design-maestro, to be sure). Unfortunately dragging him to the church and getting him to see the light are two different things, and he hates both of them. ...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.12 beta
Yeah, no I wasn't suggesting you mess with anything if what you do now works ("if it ain't broke..."). I imagine that you have a few AHK hotkeys which trigger x2 things (I replaced <Ctrl+F> for find, since Nikos won't let us), and since there's no way to predict where the focus might be wh...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.13 beta
If there is one thing that is holding me back from using X² any more than I do now is the UI, where OC is an intelligently laid out, modern UI versus the look of X², which looks like it still belongs to an OS from 20 years ago. Curiously enough, to my older eyes, all homogenised .NET interfaces (su...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.12 beta
I don't think toolbar buttons steal focus... They don't usually, but I write many things that have preliminary popup context menus from said toolbar-button, and after that the world's gone dark. I don't like testing strings either, but like I said, tabs... try determining if/which tabs are in play ...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.12 beta
GetFocus().GetWindowText()... That's only half the story dude, for if one clicks a toolbar button to invoke it, or is doing something else, while the pane "looks" active, and is active in our minds, it actually doesn't have the focus, so we need to get a little more creative... This is th...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.12 beta
And so I've been chastisably reluctant to try this new version. The only real difference (aside from the Options redesign/kerfuffle/débâcle/"gate") in this version which could interfere in this regard is the optional change in the addressbar (to the monstrously pointless and misnomer-ed &...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.12 beta
ps . actually try sending it a refresh command directly, it should work without tabbing The trouble there is I need to know which pane is active to begin with (easier said than done when 3rd-party scripting), and is it a scrap pane, dual pane, scrap-window, or not? I think I tried that originally -...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.12 beta
Yeah, see? That's where the pots and pans start clanging away like wind-chimes in an unfriendly breeze.
I did actually check if the 33163 refreshes both panes in .12 since you admitted it was "probably an oversight", but apparently you didn't think to fix that one.

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.12 beta
...then you only need an extra command to refresh the inactive view And don't I have to wrangle about tabbing across to the opposite pane before refreshing it and then tabbing back? Using the options-dialogue gives the two-pane refresh without faffing about with pots and pans. There's no targeted r...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.12 beta
and probably you are wrong because whichever way you flip the hidden attribute, the folder pane refreshes, which erases the selection Ah, but you see, in my own megalomaniacal control-freak fashion I use scripting to individually read the selection states of each entry (in each pane) before the ref...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.12 beta
...it does the state flipping for .12 It does, though it's kind of a workaround to have the unsuspecting user need to reference an obscure beta thread to find this... if the recorder identified things properly, it would be more homogeneous. Do people who believe that beauty is in the eye of the beh...

Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.12 beta
The ratio of my recommendations-to-implementations is a wonder I have any self-confidence left at all. Having a thick skin allows for a certain aloofness and l'indifférence to worldly concerns; it's oddly relaxing. Aside from the bug-fixes from .11, I haven't encountered anything of world-shattering...
