i'm considering a single instance mode for x2 where a new window will open but within the same process (x2 can have many windows open at a time a la explorer) the problems i mentioned with control panel etc will only happen if you double-click on a control panel icon on (say) your desktop. There won...

perhaps it hasn't occured to you yet, but you can use x2's scrap window as we speak, running in parallel with 2xExplorer. I grant you that there are not many things supported at present, but basic file management is there. Just have 2x and x2 running in parallel and you're laughing!

NT4 doesn't have much to offer tooltip-wise. Still you should see in 2x whatever tips your standard explorer/desktop has to offer, same file types and all wrt "hover for slackers" issue, why don't you hire an operator to act on your behalf instead? If it is a small child you can get it che...

no

but if you want to open a folder from your desktop in an existing 2x instance, just drag/drop it on 2x's address bar. This is explained in the 2nd tip'n'tricks article in the general forum

that is the weirdest thing i've ever heard! microsoft should be sued for releasing that bug-ridden ME "operating system". Another ME user has mentioned drag/drop crashes of a different variety -- he crashed when dragging shortcut files but not normal stuff ( ! ) are you sure it's down to w...

>No tooltips are displayed for certain types of items which windows are you running? from w2000 onwards most things have tips XP provides tips for folders too, which is kind of cool but there's no documented way to do that -- i'd have to write my own code for that more on tooltips will follow in a ...

are litestep shortcuts different from normal shortcuts? Don't they have a "Run" box where you can specify the window size? (i wouldn't know, perhaps some other litestep user can illuminate us all here) another thing you can do is to save a layout (see View | Layouts menu) in the maximized ...

hey i haven't added a CRC column yet, it's in the pipeline though i never added "deep" (recursive) synchronization within 2x since there's no way i can think of to fit it within the dual pane concept. The algorithm is not difficult but the results would have to pop up in a different window...

Today I'm bored, can't do no work. As you do, and since the weather in London is crap as usual (outdoor activities at a premium), I wandered around in hyperspace checking out weird URLs. Alexa.com : statistics of global web usage. The algorithm is iffy but it acts as sort of a world-wide list of top...
