some of our users report that the third party application AutoHotKey is useful for many of their needs in this area. Until such customization is implemented in x², it is very easy to do with AutoHotkey. Say, if you don’t need CapsLock in x², you can make CapsLock send F1 (for autocompletion) and al...

communicating with text is always tricky, but you should be paying attention to smileys. At no point i was being serious, and no way ironic -- a bit cheeky perhaps. Glad to know this. :-) Written communication is indeed tricky. And now that I look again at my last post, I really hope the first line...

Oh! The UN is here! :-) Thank you for your post, Fred! :-) Let me use an example, to try to make my understanding and my view a bit clearer. Say, I have this to say about x²: http://forum.zabkat.com/viewtopic.php?t=3816 1. You spend 5 or 10 minutes making custom file groups 2. You exit xplorer² 3. Y...

looks like you've got a lot of bottled up aggravation with x2. That's why you make such a fuss with ctrl+F3 it's just the tip of the iceberg :) Excuse me. I don’t consider this a serious response. I just report bugs. (To which you reply by suggesting awkward workarounds.) I also mention issues of u...

granted and i appreciate that, but you take a program that does a million things, then find one that is done slightly erratically or not to your liking, and make it seem like it is a show-stopper. Or at least so it is received this end, perhaps we have transmission interference :) slightly erratica...

The reason I report issues and bugs is to help make the program better in what it says it does.

Ctrl+Enter works. The workaround is to keep on holding down CTRL at all times Sorry! :-) The workaround would be to FIX this. For what is worth, maybe this is the reason I rarely explore new features of x² any more. They turn out to be buggy or idiosyncratic or not as friendly as one would expect. B...

what command do you have for your external viewer? I had set by mistake szEditor2Path to D:\...\xplorer2_UC.exe. Now it's back to D:\...\editor2_UC.exe, and I get what Gandolf describes: More than 10: they open in editor² windows. 10 or lower: they open in the designated program. btw, here ...

Ctrl+F3 + more than 10 files = strange result

I try to open 24 text files with Ctrl+F3, and I get 24 new x2 windows:   http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/3043/x2ctrlf3multiplefileshk8.png In the 24 new windows both panes show the folder containing the 24 files. In the initial window this folder is open only in the right pane. Tested with: Notep...

This is what I do. But:

1. The steps are too many. (Plus, you have to use the mouse.)
2. You have to remember the name and type it correctly.

I think there should be a prompt or something:

This set of custom groups has changed:

a. Save changes
b. Save under another name.
c. Discard changes

I cannot accept a mousey solution in xplorer²! :-P I would be nice if there was an item in Alt+Ctrl+V, or, even better, if the defined hotkey for the set of custom groups toggled the views. Another two annoyances I'm experiencing: 1. Upon renaming, the items go to the bottom of the group. 2. It take...

This is what I was looking for. Very convenient! :-)

But, nikos, it is not very friendly to set up. :-) And I lost all my custom groups the first time, because I didn't know I had to go through all these menus to save them...

Also, I miss a quick way to deselect this view.

I had tried Show in groups recently and tried it again today. I usually use Details view, sorted by file type. This feature, that the folders go to the bottom, grouped under Extension: Unspecified , makes Show in groups useless for me. :-( Is there any workaround? Any plans to change this? Thanks, D...
