LOL, so easy?
When I set it to 0, it works.
... I think the AudioShell extension needs a large value anyway, so you should maybe add a note about this to your blog entry ...
Weeks of annoying behavior are gone. Thank you.
edit:
Currently working value is 16000000. 0 would make it hang for some exotic tags.

I installed AudioShell, but columns don't appear in xplorer2 (now with latest beta, but doesn't work with previous release either). I have adminstrator privileges, but I tried regsvr32 as well. I get a 0x80004005 error. Columns from mp3infp, which I installed a couple years back, show up, but it would be nice to use with the additional file extensions offered by AudioShell. Ideas?

I'm running 32 bit versions. I checked elsewhere for AudioShell issues and haven't found anything relevant (or at least not anything that corrects the problem). I'll keep looking, since it apparently isn't an xplorer2 issue. Thanks.FrizzleFry wrote:Are you running 64 bit versions of Windows and x2?
AudioShell is a 32 bit extension so it will not work with 64 bit programs.

XP pro. I had already uninstalled mp3infp and rebooted. It reinstalls and displays columns fine.FrizzleFry wrote:So what Windows and which flavor are you running?
XP, Vista, W7... home, pro, ultimate...
Could be that mp3infp (sic) conflicts with AudioShell. You could try uninstalling it to see if that helps.
according to this you may not be running as administrator after all but it wouldn't make sense if you are on XP. Can you create a file e.g. inside c:\program files?
anyway as you found another tool to do the same job, don't worry about it
