eject disk from the commandline

I have this NTFS external USB drive that always gets itself in knots and cannot be removed safely. The taskbar notification "safe removal" thingy just doesn't open. As it isn't a USB stick there's no Eject command i can use from xplorer2. I was looking for a DOS command to do the removal and I found this nice thread

DISKPART did it for me :)

ps as you may know FAT32 formatted external disks can be just unplugged without fuss but NTFS drives can get corrupted if you hassle them

scratch that!
diskpart PERMANENTLY removed said drive from my system, so when I reattached it no drive letter was assigned
I had to go back and re-add it with diskpart - definitely not advised to do it again

I have not used RemoveDrive or EjectMedia but I do use ReMount...
