Type options

Post by ja78ybea »

I currently use x1, and I am trying out DeskRule, having used Xplorer for a long time. RegEx searches are great!

I cannot find a way to modify the file extensions included in the Type field, or see a list. For example, I regularly use Adobe Illustrator (.ai) and InDesign (.indd) alongside Word and Excel so I would like to include these extensions in the Documents type. Is there a way to do this?

The other thing I use a lot in x1 is the highlighting of the search text in the preview so I can find the matches. Is there a way to do this?

I was actually going to propose something similar but with code files. Is it possible to customize "code source" types? Python files (*.py) cannot be found this way.

at present the file types are set through the registry only
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ZabaraKatranemia Plc\Desk_Rule\File types
you can add more types or more extensions in existing types using comma separated fields

you must first quit deskrule fully with ALT+X then change the registry

as for preview it works like in xplorer2, if you search for keywords it will show you the first keyword in plain text preview
