Shredding files on SSD media doesn't make sense;
It is ineffective and reduces the write life of your drive
Continue with shredding anyway?

Yes No

I installed a SSD hard drive last year and don’t quite understand what this means for me. I thought when you delete a file normally it just tells the table of contents the space is available to be written over, but the files might still be there to find with recovery software so that’s why you want to overwrite them.
Do I need to use the Shred command anymore?

if you read about how SSD work and how they balance the writes, when you overwrite a file it won't write on the original bytes. So shredding as usual doesn't work. You may burn the disk or format it but individual file shredding won't achieve much
