hi Nikos,
i have dual option panes [vertical]

when am using the filter [to filter results] "by tying outside the filter box"
the right side pane works, but the left side pane doesn't show always result [sometimes works / sometimes doesn't].

Please advise.

by "left" do you mean the folder tree perhaps? That one doesn't support filtering
other than that I can't see why the filter shouldn't work for both folder panes?

left side folder pane.
results are not always showing [filter].

am unable to figure out the cause

try putting the same folder left and right, and try to filter left and right and see what goes wrong
perhaps left side is showing details (columns) and you have "all properties" ticked in the filter menu?

checked and followed your steps.

With right side folder pane = everything works fine

in left side, the filter is picking my typing, and they are showing up in the filter box, but the left folder pane becomes empty.
if i repeat the steps sometimes 2-4 times, then my search will show up in the left folder pane [as i said before, sometimes it works and sometimes doesn't]

this is happening in List [panel style]

very strange! do you have the latest version?
can you post a pic of your xplorer2 window? (or send me an email)

i fixed this problem by uninstalling and installing a clean copy.

Issue fixed; but am unable to set the below:-
Infotips for items & Hightlight primary sort column & max list column width 250 => these setting are resetting to default when i exit xplorer2

make sure you have save settings on exit enabled

am saving, but it resets

are other settings remembered, e.g. the size and position of the window?

i tested on another pc
the problem is happening in program options / window / view panes

the settings when i close, are re-seting

are you using custom folder options? that could be a complication, see here for more information

after some testing, i noted that setting " Max list column width = 0 ", causes the filter problem
any thoughts

what's the best value to set, to view long folder/file names in list view mode; and not to cause problem with filter search.

I can't imagine how this is the cause of your problems but anyway set it to a very large value eg 1000 and see how it goes

thank you, i set it to 1000 for now, and there are no problems with filter search.

could you please check "Max list column width = 0" issue, and maybe have a fix before the next release.
