Has anyone managed to get x2 to work with the mobile devices item that gets placed on the tree (below control panel on mine) by I think activesync when you have a pocket pc? Whenever I try I get a message in the status bar saying "Some items were not accessible (insufficient access rights?)

some of these devices are designed to work with explorer only
(you can say that they are poorly designed)

however, the latest versions get better
for example all the latest cameras i tried are read without problems in x2, whereas older ones didn't

I meant is it things like messages you need to respond to but don't know about, or things like special interfaces you need to use but aren't told about?

there are many ways that things can fail
usually these NSEs expect that they'll have to create their own "view" for their contents and don't work at all when somebody (i.e. x2) just tries to enumerate contents

Ah, so they want to make their own child window in your program using IShellView, and you just don't let them...

I'll have an experiment with that. If I got it working, would that be a feature you'd be willing to add, or is it a feature you thing is not necessary?

this is already in my list but i've got so many things to do first that it won't be coming before v2 next year!

I don't know if I am in the know or not, but I compiled that example, and it worked fine with my device.

So do you have an actual plan for where you are taking your program, or do you just coding features one after the other as you think they'd be necessary? ( I'd fall into the latter :D )
