Thanks for the tip.

By the way, What is "some inefficiency in xplorer², which is unwanted for most of the time"? Does it get too technical?

Nikos,

When making screen captures for items that require administrative privileges / elevation of privileges, I found that I can make screen captures by removing the lock desktop feature of UAC temporarily (just long enough to make the screen captures).  Perhaps that will hep Wink as well....

some inefficiency in xplorer²
the autorefresh can no longer receive single file changes, but it re-reads all the folder every time there's a change. Not too bad unless the folder is really big

johngalt the demo was made in XP but you're right it's most probably a desktop redirection issue

There's a hotfix available from Microsoft that updates shell32.dll to fix this issue.

kb949860

On a Windows XP-based computer, when you start an application by running as another user account, the content in an application's dialog box or menu does not update automatically

On a Windows XP-based computer, you use the Run as option to start an application under a user account other than the current user account that you use to log on to the computer. In this application, you may find that the content in a dialog box or in a menu does not update automatically.
