Re: photo transfer from PC to iPad

My advice would be to jailbreak the ipad, then install openssh server on it. Cydia will help with this, it's fairly simple. Then you can use SSH/SCP to transfer files to the ipad over WiFi. No need for Itunes or even the cable. WinSCP has a dual pane interface a bit like xplorer2 which is nice. If y...

I think it's good to have a blog post to draw attention to the blacklist and how to empty it completely, as you probably know I struggled very recently with this problem, so thanks for creating the post and video. My personal opinion is that the AppData is a place I quite commonly want to search so ...

using the blank as the delimiting factor defining pertinent data
I guess I had thought that one blank entry (00=) would correctly delimit the pertinent data being nothing. I guess this doesn't work, but thanks to you chaps for helping me rid myself of the ever-present blacklist!

Thanks for your reply Kilmatead. Doing it this way does work, I am beginning to think the appearance of 'thisFolderDoesnotExist' in the ini file (or any other text for that matter) is what prevents x2 replacing with the defaults. So if I had just put 00=blah before it would have worked. Leaving it a...

Cannot get rid of Find blacklist

Hi folks, I seem to be having some trouble getting rid of the Find blacklist. It seems no matter what I do, it keeps coming back. Maybe I'm doing something stupid, so apologies if so, but I have tried many things and searched for similar posts to no avail... Now it is not directly relevant to this p...

ah if it is detected as soon as you unzip it then it must be detected by static file scanning as malware... as you rightly suggest it can't be hips unless it is executed... i am skeptical about the notion that the autohotkey executable will "only include the function libraries necessary to exec...

sophos might detect menu++ in two distinct ways; either as malware/pua by file scanning or by its runtime behaviour under hips. do you know which it is?

it would seem logical in a case of distributed writes as you describe for solid state memory that the shred function would zero the file with the most recent changes as mapped by up-to-date file allocation information, not writing zeroes somewhere else. it is surely from previous writes in the file'...

well at least this won't happen with windows 7 which looks essentially like vista sp2 underneath with a new gui on top... so i am optimistic that there is plenty of life left yet in xplorer2. in an ideal world microsoft themselves would realise how excellent it is, and buy it off you for millions to...

please don't get me wrong, i certainly do not suggest this is a sin! i have huge respect for you and xplorer2, perhaps then i am just lamenting the sad state of the world where you are unable to make sufficient money on the revenues of xplorer2 alone and have to resort to this. i also worry about xp...

but it is enabled by default, and also has "recommended" written next to it. this isn't fair enough in my opinion. this is deceptive in all honesty, as you are not really recommending it are you? the problem is that a lot of users, like my dad for example, would see 'recommended' and think...

why is there a find blacklist?! i find this incredibly annoying, a terrible feature! i have to always go to the reg key in question and delete the paths because when i want to know if a file is on my harddisk, i don't want false results saying it isn't when it is sitting in my local settings or temp...
