 Yeah, I wouldn't put much stock in a "comparison" which never actually compares anything but prices, and appears to have spent less than 15 minutes using whatever he could get for free for each product.  How did a DOS Mode file manager get more stars than .... Honestly, I think it ...

Well, I dono what the stuff in the FAQ is about virtual folders, I used to use 2x as the default filemanager ... and I haven't really had any trouble with using x2 that way, except these few items which don't open to the right spot. I just do it the way PowerDesk does: I don't remove any of the defa...

Using as "Default" file manger [Technical]

Well, I tried setting x2 as my default filemanager, and it quickly became obvious that there are going to be some problems .... 1) apparently, x2 doesn't handle IDlists as specified in the explorer commandline: %SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe /idlist,%I,%L the /idlist,%I lets explorer know that the %I is ...

Yes, but ...

I just want to make sure you realize that the key thing I'm getting at is that I had to edit the registry to get it to run "my" way. Totally aside from the fact that I lost my old settings, I couldn't find any way to make my preffered settings come up at startup!

Can I make a couple of edits to your english without offending? :D * I've tried to only edit actual English grammar problems, although a couple of times I itched to rewrite a whole sentence (Mr. Finder sounds like an alternative to that annoying windows XP puppy or something) ... * I also corrected ...

Loosing Settings

OK, what's going on with the settings? * All my old settings are gone. After a quick check, It appearsthe settings were being stored in a new key ... * I changed my columns and set the panes to horizontal, the way I like them, and even saved them as a "Layout," but when I closed x2 and re-...

2. Can anyone recommend a good file finder? I used to use Find.exe that was with Litestep (I think it was part of the Powerdesk suite) but that doesn't take arguments properly. Arg! thx. http://www.mythicsoft.com/agentransack/default.aspx 4. What I mean is that doing operations like changing layout...

Trial days persisted - 0.9.0.78 [Unicode]

So: the installer worked great ( for the latest 0.9.0.78 [Unicode] version ). However, when it was done installing, it informed me that I only hve 3 days left in my demo period. I assume this is because it's determining the date based on the settings from my previous beta install, which I never put ...

quick and dirty meaning the list is hard coded in x2? Can it be added to options (or just in registry) for us to add to, so we can get our .ogg files (or .ape for that matter)? Seriously, the wonderful thing about media players is the fact that the codec's are seperate, so we can keep adding codecs ...

Let me get this straight: only users with admin rights will be able to install a registered version of x2, right?

P.S.: so far, I've been unable to trick it into thinking it's registered, or into changing it's expiration date.

"Debug Assertion Failed"

I'm sure I saw this on the alphas. Just thought I'd mention it now. I'm getting an assertion on startup each time. I can hit "Ignore" and continue using the application with no problems. --------------------------- Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library --------------------------- Debug...

Quick Viewer and 2MB images

I suppose this is somewhere in the readme's but I haven't seen it yet. When I'm using the Quick Viewer window and I click on an image from my digicam that's larger than 2,000,000 bytes, instead of a preview image, I get a bunch of binary code ... Beta bugs

Is this the appropriate place for problems regarding the beta builds? The "find" feature doesn't work, at all. I suspect this is because I don't use the Explorer shell. I can open Explorer (the filemanager) and use F3 or Ctrl-F to search, but basically, since you're now relying on explorer...
