It would be nice to have more enhanced color coding options. With  cumulative colorization, so that style settings "fall through" to the next rule. For instance: *.exe file : Bold Compressed files : Blue foreground Modified last day: Yellow background So that if this is all true for a file...

I know that...  it's a feature request rather than a "how do I" question ;-) The thing is... it is unnecessarily cumbersome... this being 2008 with the digital age in full effect and all ;-) With the color coding already having a stacking order why not have the option to inherit a color so...

Color coding needs transparent/inherit option

Right now every rule completely overtakes the previous color coding rule, making it a real pain to e.g. make all read-only files have a light gray foreground color, a background color depending on their extension and an italic font based on the date. One should really be able to choose to inherit th...

You've got to be kidding me. Why not add a toggle button in a single dialog to switch between (sorted) "select" mode (which is the default) and "organize" mode. The order buttons would of course only be enabled in the second mode.

That's what the Reset all button is for. :o That is like using a nuclear weapon to end a bar-fight. However, please keep in mind that his is but a part time one-man-show, what with him having a day job I'm not sure what to make of this. xplorer2 (pro) is a commercial product, people who use it and ...

Thanks for hijacking this thread guys  8) Anyway back to the Tab thing... as an end user I'm not that interested in the can and cannots of Windows controls - I am however very worried about the fact that I can remove hotkeys which I can never ever get back again. Besides all this I'm sure you can fi...

Keyboard shortcuts... no Tab?

I really dig the keyboard shortcut customization function in the new beta. I do have a problem though... you can see the commands which use the Tab key and you can remove keycombinations that use Tab but there does not seem to be any way to actually assign any combination with Tab to any command.

the new miniscrap feature added in 1.65 is for unlimited bookmarks. Come on, we had this discussion before. If this is true then why is it in some ways more limited than the (IMO) true bookmarking system in x2? Make up your mind and merge the two systems or please, pretty please, leave the two syst...

I would prefer to see a dedicated toolbar which shows the bookmarks (much like in Internet/Windows Explorer & FireFox). It can't be hard and it would make the bookmarking system in x2 sooo much more useful.

And as for the blogging... it is nice. But I would prefer more frequent x2 releases instead if you don't mind  :)

i was thinking about writing a class that makes registry and INI files behave similar (it's not rocket science but neither trivial) but then thought that registry will have to be used somehow anyway so it would be a futile exersice! Actually, the defacto (and recommended by MS) standard for storing...

How about an update?

Not per se in a physical sense but... it has been a while since the last update. How about giving us an idea what is going on behind the scenes and about when we can expect something new.   8)

Well, let me put it this way:

Beyond Compare is to WinDiff what Xplorer2 is to Windows Explorer  :)

Check out the trial version and see for yourself...

WinDiff is OK for a freebee. But for serious comparisons you should really  check out Beyond Compare. There is nothing in this world that comes even close!

No, no. The basic principle is fine, and my example was just arbitrary (I understand that there are other ways to go about solving the given problem). Every color rule has an order in which it is applied. Now if it were possible to set the foreground or background color to "inherit" or &qu...
