This bug has been there with all ftp-enabled versions, it is not new.
I find the easiest way to escape an unresolved ftp address is to go to "My Computer". Other folders are simply appended to the ftp address, as you have already explained.

Thanks for the tabs, they're great. A method used for creating new tabs which I find very convenient is by double-clicking in the empty space next to a tab (examples are Opera browser and foobar player). Would it be possible to implement this in x2?

I think the icons are probably .ico files, which is a separate image format supporting alpha transparency.

It didn't make any difference for the preview. However I noticed when increasing the thumbnail size the previews are rather low res anyway (180px), so the need for the preview pane may be limited. I'll just toggle the thumbnail view instead.

I think the button images themselves look great, it's just they should be in a format which supports alpha-blending with the background (like png).
