I had another suggestion for the right-click history pane, as I also find it not that useful. The biggest problem I have is that it fills up with non-interesting directories as I browse to my target directory. It would be more useful if it used a smart algorithm to include/exclude directories from t...

I just verified this problem. It seems that the "External Editor" field is used correctly, while the "External Viewer" setting is ignored. I'm using version 1.5.0.0 of xplorer2. Both options are being correctly stored in the registry and read back from the registry.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread (I don't check the forum much these days), but have you tried Picasso? ? Its been a while since I used it, but I seem to remember that you there was a slider to adjust the thumbnail size which could be made very large (ie full screen). Not sure if this is what you me...

My opinions follow.... XP Style Tabs: Disagree - the current tabs are easier to discern (although judging from past posts I am the only one who thinks this); the active tab can be distinguished by color, shape, and font. In XP color is the only queue. If there is anything wrong with the current tabs...

Small New Tab Bug

Curious if anyone else noticed this, but I can't create a new tab (via menu, or shortcut key) when the directory I'm in is empty. Also, I like the highlight active pane's titlebar feature. I suggest changing the default color of the highlight or of the folder link color. By default they are the same...

I'm not sure what I think of this, so it should definitly be a configurable option if it were added. This change may make it more difficult to jump (or copy and move files) between different folder locations in the tree for people who use the mouse a lot. You have to keep waiting for each node of th...

This is a great idea, and I think you may be able to accomplish it with third party software, such as http://www.tcbmi.com/strokeit/. I have been meaning to try this for some time now, but have not got around to it. I would be interested to hear from anyone who has tried to use this software (or oth...

i wouldn't put too much importance on those transfer speeds first of all x2 sums both read and write speeds even time wasted in error reports and overwrite dialogs is also contributing to the overall transfer rate caveat emperor. Although if you calculate it as total bytes/total time it will give t...

Sure, although the robust transfer uses screen realestate more efficiently than tc :D I just thought it wasn't quite as clean and efficient as other xplorer2 windows. On this topic, it might also me nice to change the "Remaining (estimate)" indicator to "Bytes Transfered" when th...

Robust Transfer Appearance Suggestions

Just a few suggestions for improving the appearance of the robust transfer dialog. Could the vertical window size be reduced, as well as the font size? I find the window looks a little bloated. Also, the time estimate is a control when it should probably be an indicator to match the others.

I'll add my vote to the request for a different background color on filtered panes. I have been bit by this (forgetting a filter was on) when running with horizontal pane alignment when working in the top pane because the filtered indicator is not nearby. The color would be a very obvious reminder t...

Personally I vote for "don't do any extra work up front" as this will make the copying faster. Why waste user time for every copy, just incase the destination disk is full? If user is concerned it isn't hard to check in advance! And with xplorer²'s powerful find features, in most cases, it...

Robust Transfer

Thanks for the robust transfer option. I have been silently wishing for this for awhile. The ability to get rid of all those windows popups is rather critical when dealing with large file sets. Personally, I would encourage you to default with the robust transfer for all possible copy/move operation...

Although there may be a way to do this in xplorer², I suggest you look at "The Rename", which you can find on http://www.herve-thouzard.com/. FYI, this little tip is in the excellent xplorer² documentation also.

Thanks for the good ideas. Based on them I am currently using the following procedure: Manually find directories of interest and add to a scrap (CTRL-S). Then, in the scrap I choose only the name column (ALT-K), and then copy the columns (CTRL-P). It is trivial to use editor² to convert this to a co...
