Re: xplorer2 v.5.50.11 beta
The download link, installed, tells me I'm running 5.5.0.1 x64 2024-01-24. Is this correct, or is the link/installation actually the 5.5.0.11 beta without actually saying that? :( oops - correction - I see that the link has actually installed a separate 0.11 beta dated 2024-05-06. My mistake. I thin...

Re: mark "not empty" folders
Having said that - I'm finding it is not a perfect solution (sorry!) The tool is not "sticky" - so that if you do something to a folder - open it and look at the contained files - then go back to the root folder, the sizes are not there. INsofar as I can tell, one then can't just use the t...

Re: mark "not empty" folders
Oh for pity's sake!!! If I would just open my eyes.
Thanks for pointing out what is truly the obvious and I'm sorry to spend your time this way!
Best regards
Richard

Re: mark "not empty" folders
Thanks Nikos: I see the features that you are talking about and that can be made to work for some things. However it would be handy to be able to see, on the folder tree, which folders are empty (ie. having the folder icon of a different color?) and/or the size of the folder (which means, I guess, t...

mark "not empty" folders
Is there a way I can make the folder tree distinguish empty folders from folders that have some files in them?

"touch dates" "sync-touch"
What does 'touch dates' and 'sync-touch' mean? I am not familiar with how those terms are used (though they appear enough that it seems like I could have known). Can I use them to read EXIF 'picture taken' dates? I've a bunch of image files wich I modified with a program that stripped all the EXIF d...

Re: delete failure
My reply seems to have gotten lost (or perhaps I didn't press the submit). This is the problem almost certainly. The directory lengths became much too long. I suspect (in the absence of a better explanation) that this was an issue with my android device doing something funny. Unfortunately it seems ...

Re: delete failure
I tried to attach an image but I guess that didn't work. Anyway it is part of something funny going on. I'm not techy enough to understand. I was trying to copy music files to an SD card. This was about 13,000 files in 380 subdirectories, total of 230gb. But a simple operation, really: mirror the su...

delete failure
I've had a interesting issue trying to delete files. This is from a 250gb SD card that I want to use in an android music player. I rather think that it is not an Xplorer2 problem but something with file systems but I thought I'd ask here... There's something funny with the file system. So I figure I...

search for exact phrase
I often want to search for an exact phrase in blog posts. For example I want to search for the file tag "content created". No matter how I put that phrase, with or without quotes, the result is of posts that contain both words but not necessarily as the exact phrase... This is quite a comm...

windows font management
This is a small but I thought interesting issue. I know Windows fonts are special to Windows. Why, I'm not sure. Beer is special, fonts not so much in my view. I recently came across a situation in which I had some fonts (only 8 intotoal) with Created and Modified dates in 2080. Odd I thought. Viewi...

High resolution monitors
I thought I would restart this topic. I've a new laptop with what is almost a "stupid" hi res monitor (at least for my context - I'm not a professional after all): Wide viewing angle & High density FlexView Display 3840x2400. With this very high resolution the look/feel of the program ...

Re: Collapse All
Yes, of course.
However I wondered if one could do that without having to scroll up to the top of the expanded list of sub-folders - i.e. to collapse the tree from anywhere in the tree.
Could there be a "collapse all" function in the 'folders' pane?

Collapse All
I'm searching for this topic: "collapse all" expanded folders and I don't see how. There are some pretty old discussions on the forum but they don't seem to apply. From 2008 is this comment: " to collapse all, click on the [+] right under desktop node " But I don't see any [+] so...

Re: Print Tree?
I wonder if there is any update to this very old discussion?
That is, an easy/intuitive way to copy the folder tree structure to a list? That is, a list of the subfolder, with sub-sub etc folders, all in a list. Be nice if it was one of the items on the Tools menu item.
Thanks Richard
