You might need to have Administrative powers over your system, and the “Hidden items” option should be checked in the “View” tab on the Windows File Explorer ribbon. Have a look at How to Show Hidden Files and Folders in Windows 7, 8, or 10

All 4 32 and 64 bit download links are working in both Firefox and Google Chrome from https://www.zabkat.com/x2down.htm.

When a folder is hidden through the “Hide Folder” application, it is hidden for both Windows Explorer and xplorer² (Pro, Ultimate Edition).

You could use my own favorite solution to open any file: find the file in x2 first, then use drag & drop from x2 onto the target app.
