As an idea I was thinking of SHGetPathFromIDList / FindFirstFile / FindNextFile and then convert the files qualified back to a PIDL list.

Since I am going to be doing this a lot I think the easiest solution would be for me to write an app that takes your CIDA file, flattens it and write out another CIDA file. Does your CIDA file contain anything "funny" compared to the standard CIDA structure (e.g. I see a 4 byte CIDA string at the be...

Flatten scrap pane contents

Hi,

I have a scrap pane that contains a lot of folders and I want to flatten it so I can exclude files and subdirectories but I can't seem to do it.

Is it possible?

If not can anyone recommend a way to achieve what I want?

I'm sure there is but if we don't report bugs then we rely purely on nikos finding them.

Here's a screenshot:

From what I can see in the painting sequence the primary sort column is painted after the focus rect is drawn.

v1.1 Painting issue

With "Hilight primary sort column" enabled the focus frame around the selected listview entry is overwritten.

For example click on a listview entry then lick on the selected/bold treeview entry.

This is on Windows XP SP2 and Windows 2003 server.

Here is a link to the software (it's free) if you want to try it and compare it to Windows Explorer:

Infotips not working for files with custom tip handlers

Hi, I am using a program which implements a custom tooltip handler for MP3 files. This handler displays the MP3 tag info in a tooltip. Using xplorer (.96 unicode) it does not show the tooltip for MP3 files that Windows Explorer does. However for "normal" type files (.e.g .TXT ..JPG) the tooltip is s...

Hi Nikos, You are right that I have the sync flag set and I am viewing the folder. However when I switched off sync the problem is sort of "worse" in that after the delete the listview populates itself with all the items I have in Desktop (a lot), then clears and displays the contents of A. So it's ...

lol ... could be worse ... you could be coding in WTL ;)

Seriously though it's a PITA when you have your treeview expanded a lot since it jumpts to the top and you have to scroll down to get back to where you were. Can I expect it to be fixed in the near future?

1.0.0.94 delete bug?

Hi,

Imagine I have a folder structure like this:

C:\A\B

And in the treeview I have B hilighted.

When I hit Shift+Delete to delete B the focus in the treeview goes to Desktop instead of emulating Explorer's behaviour which goes to A.

Instead why not have an option to control how Ctrl+N behaves?

By default it's new window and if set then it's new tab.

Makes sense since the people who want multiple tabs rarely want new windows; but if they do they can use the menu.

Bummer, looks like you're going to have to roll your own.

Fortunately I've patched mine via Vis Studio so F5 is no longer a problem for me :)
