Administrator indicator

It would be helpful for a more-visible flag to indicate whether X2 Pro is running as Administrator or not. Perhaps a red A in the status bar.

Obviously, not an urgent request, but it would be handy.

right click on your recycle bin icon, pick properties from the menu and turn on the delete confirmation dialog Thanks for the tip, Nikos. I was looking for confirmation ONLY for directories (or only non-empty directories) -- not for every file deleted. IMO, it would be great for X2 to provide that,...

You might consider to turn on 'Automatically shift focus to view after activation' in Tools - Options - Window (Tree section). This way your tree-pane is hardly activated anymore, minimizing the chance you delete folders from it by accident. Thanks -- that seems to help.  I am still not sure exactl...

Deleting Directories

More than once, I have hit "Del" in xplorer2 and deleted a directory by mistake. This happens when the tree pane is active and I don't realize that. I am requesting an optional prompt before deleting a non-empty directory. Or have I missed something?  Is that already there somewhere? Thanks!

Yes, given that consideration, it makes sense to have an Add new button in the organize dialogbox.  I add my recommendation for it.  With snakebyte , that makes (at least) three votes    Thanks to both of you for your comments & agreement.  (And of course thanks alway...

I'm not understanding your point because it takes even fewer clicks as it is now without going through the Organize dialog at all:   Customize > User commands > Add new Yes, of course it is quicker for adding only one. However, often I need to add several new commands at once, then organize them.  ...

Already 107 visitors on the thread! Since there is a saying that states: who keeps silent, consents It is about already a hundred of people vouching for an serious X2 lift-up (in stereo and at loud volume in Nikos 'hears) OK, now this "silent" member must speak up. I would much rather hav...

Enh req: Button for "New" in "Organize User C

The title says it all.  It seems a little awkward that the "Customize > User Commands > Organize" dialog doesn't have a button for "Add New".  It would save clicks.

Thanks!

Nikos, thanks for the instantaneous reply! the reason why comspec is currently ignored is the complexity of the piping process. It could be possible to use other shells for command execution, but frankly there are many other issues to be addressed first OK, I understand this completely.  Maybe somed...

Re: Command-line arguments won't work (2)

Console enhancement requests

I have two console enhancement requests. (1) Is there (or could there please be) a setting to allow the user to specify a command shell other than CMD.EXE ?  I am using 4NT.EXE, which provides many facilities that CMD.EXE lacks.  I have set the environment variable COMSPEC to point to 4NT, but X2 (l...

THANK YOU for Manual!

I want to thank everyone involved in creating the new manual.  I am one of those who learns best by reading manuals, and I have learned tons of new X2 features in just an hour or going through it.

THANK YOU

Two minor annoyances

:!: I'd like to be able to turn these off: 1. Warning that a file can't be moved to the same directory. So what?  The effect is the same. I've dropped it there because the target is offscreen. So just cancel the move and stop annoying me! 2. Warning when renaming a file that changing the extension c...

As soon as I posted my previous message, I gave it another try and got it to work perfectly.  Because of x2's excellent feature of clicking on pathname parts to move up the tree, I didn't bother to program up .  However, I was able to program back and forward , and I do find them convenient.  Soon, ...

hpp3 asked: Hey MHP, just to be curious, is StrokeIt doing what you were hoping for x2? It'd be nice to know for future reference, especially because so many folks find them infinitely useful.
