Kilmatead, hat off to your memory! (I'm a little bit envious...)
It's Nikos that surprised me: "decameron" is Greek!

I'm more than surprised, I'm astonished. Nikos, come on! Tell these poors what "decameron" means! The context is indeed a group of Florentine youngsters escaping in the country to stay away from the plague. To pass the time, each of them in turn must tell a story. The stories are ar...

I had a similar problem: no way to delete an AVI file. Nothing to do with x2; the problem was also with... x1 ;-) I didn't try to open the file, I didn't anything: just boot up XP 32, select the file and press delete. After a lot of investigations I saw that the file was damaged: big parts were zero...

Thank you for the info.

By the way: I'm using (please don't laugh too loud for my computer is very sensitive) win2000.

This explains why I had no hiccup and my kittens are happy as usual...

Folder junction->Delete

What's the use of Folder junction->Delete?
I deleted some junctions in the usual way without problems.
Why a special command is needed?

Pure binary compare is slow? Are you kidding? It's the fastest (and easiest) way to compare two files! In all the other cases you have to actually *parse* the files and that needs time. I'm a very happy ExamDiff Pro user. In the many options provided, there is the use of plugins. Via the plugins you...

Uh, I didn't want to be (so much) pedantic!
I was thinking that in 1982 I got my Spectrum and I saw my first IBM PC only a few years later...
But after all I started with DOS 2, not 1!

The %xxx% syntax makes reference to (DOS) environment variables. Of course %RANDOM% must be a pseudo-variable, not a real environment variable. What surprises me is that I never heard anything about it in the DOS era, but my meory is notoriously lousy. By the way: 30 years ago the IBM PC wasn't born...

Just for your information: runtime error 216 = general protection fault.

I read about that Delphi bug long ago, so I was hoping most of the faulty programs were updated, but it seems I was overoptimistic.

Good to know that I wasn't dreaming. And good to know that there is a workaround (thank you Kilmatead). As I said, not a problem to me for I feel more comfortable with the english interface, but I'm very surprised that the translation changes the menu. Latinam linguam loquor, just in case someone ne...

Tile horizontally

I had to completely reinstall Xplorer2 and by mistake I selected the Italian language. Not a big problem: I am Italian! But I prefer to use Xplorer2 in english so it's simpler to follow the discussions here in the community. Not a big problem this too: I already asked some times ago and now I ...
