set history items to 2 (frequent out), then delete all bookmarks from the menu

not unless you disable bookmarks and frequent folders
tip: you don't need to search for folders in this (and similar) lists: type part of the path name and hit UP ARROW (once or more) to fetch matching items from the drop-down portion

this box also shows bookmarks and frequent folders
they can be used for easy auto-completion with F1 key

simple history lists like the "here" folder are cleaned though program options (look for CLEAR HISTORY button)
but that will remove all entries from all simple lists

for the VPN "desktop" tabs problem use CUSTOMIZE > FOLDER GROUPS > STARTUP menu command

do you have a "proper" program registered for emails, or is it through your internet browser?
anyway, the automatic attachment only works for clients like outlook and the like

I don't know, you tell me what size large icons are good for your 4K monitor to be, and then I may add that size to the skin package

the ribbon probably has its own icon scheme based on system icon sizes, that's 16/32 for regular DPI (probably!)

I think the "small" skin must be 16 pixels, fixed. The big one _XL can be any size you like

ps. small icon size is constrained to system small icon size, so if you have normal DPI that will be 16, otherwise it can be bigger. This is used for menus so it cannot be huge

to clarify, the small icon skin is called x2skin.png and the big one x2skin_XL.png if you install xplorer2 fresh, it picks the 48x48 skin for "large" and renames it appropriately if you manually interfere, you must stick to the above names and make sure both bitmaps/icon strips have the same number ...

also a fresh install will pick up better DPI settings, but of course you'd lose all your customizations

are you talking about the standalone VLC getting restricted like that? That would be very strange if you tweaked xplorer2 shortcut icon properties for compatibility, try to undo them and see if there's any change. Or even better, save your settings, do a fresh and complete reinstall (factory setting...
