Re: Non-standard - and in fact, really awful - list display

because of its brilliant "Comment" column; DO's "Comments" aren't processable from the outside either, and are (as far as I have seen in my recent trial of that) just visible one-by-one, which is a similar problem of hiding "valid adjacent" information from the viewer ...

Re: important security readme

UAC as it was originally designed was a sensible security measure, its just that it required developers to do a bit of work to support it properly. Re: x2 status bar messaging?

You can send messages between processes, it's when the arguments of the message are pointers there's a problem. A value like 0 or 1000 is the same in all processes but a pointer to e.g. 0x4fff8600 in one process might point to a valid string, but in the other process will most likely point to garbag...

Re: x2 status bar messaging?

For some reason SB_SETTEXTW (which is specially for STATUSCLASSNAME controls) didn't want to work correctly - probably because Nikos creates his statusbar with the WTL layer, so god only knows what it expects. More likely, because while WM_SETTEXT is one of a limited number of messages that Windows...

Some file managers have this built in. I won't say which since it perks Kilmatead's paranoia up no end :)
