Hm, well... I switched to a different mouse and first impressions are that this seems to help. Maybe it was just a case of a cheapish mouse to eager to interpret single clicks as double clicks somehow (clicking through folders was also somewhat erratic). Over and out.

Might it have something to do with the doubleclick speed? Is double clicking a tab mapped to the close command (and if so, is it possible to change that in the options somewhere)?

I've been using xplorer2 pro with no problems on a desktop computer for years. Now I have a laptop and an annoying thing happens: often when I click on a tab to select it, it is interpreted as the command for closing that tab. Yet I didn't click the little cross at the wright, I just clicked the tab ...

Forget that. A reboot of the computer solved this. Should have tried that first.

Now there's another problem. The programme worked fine for a while, but I hadn't got around to filing in the registration code yet.
Now when I start it up I get the evaluation-or-fill-in-code dialogue window. But it hangs on that. I can't click "I want to enter the regsitration code", it won't ...

I installed xplorer2 on a new computer. Thinking to save myself some time I exported the reg file for the settings on my desktop as explained on the blog (https://www.zabkat.com/blog/13Apr08.htm) and imported that reg file on the new computer.
However, if I now start up xplorer2 on that new laptop ...

When I right click on a docx file, it'says to open it with "appvlp".
So I tried the following.

This command line: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\client\AppVLP.exe $N
Nothing happens. No error dialogue, no error sound. Either with or ...

Same result without argument. I'll try a reboot this week and report back whether that changes anything.

I have a very simple user command to open a file in Word instead of in another word processor (I have several, and Word is not the default programme for all file types).

It looks simple enough.

I am trying this remedy, but it won't work, since the software won't allow me to disable a large number of shell extensions at one go. So... any other ideas?
