In Tools/Options/Window (tab) there is a check box for plain menus (bottom right) which reduces the commands available in the menus.
Thanks for that tip! I would have never seen it!

Re: blog: backup or transfer your settings

I'm running v3.5.0.2 Professional x64 on Windows 10 Home v1607. I'm not seeing 'Export settings' under 'Actions'. Is Actions -> Export settings now obsolete and no longer supported? Is there now some other method for exporting settings? Any assistance greatly appreciated. Thx, Rob https://s6.postimg...

you need to match commands as they appear on the top level xplorer2 menu. your command is in EDIT menu, so select this category in the dialog, then add "copy names". Copy path isn't how xplorer2 calls this, it's copy Names
A-OK - got it!! thanks!

you can put any xplorer2 menu command on the context menu, just use the XPLORER2 > ORGANIZE menu command
Sorry, but I'm not seeing 'Copy as Path'. Can you please give more explicit instructions? Thx, Rob

Context manu copy path name

I swear there used to be a "copy path name" (or "Copy path to clipboard") in the context menu (right-click mouse on file name). However I'm not seeing that now with v3.5.0.2. Am I wrong? Maybe the "copy path name" was some other software? Anyone have an answer? Thx, Rob Update: just discovered if I ...

here's what to do: go to your root disk folder and do a search for all your video files using <ctrl+F>. Thank you nikos! Yes, that worked fine. I knew there must be a way but frankly your product has so many "bells-and-whistles" that it's sometimes a bit difficult to determine how to do a specific ...

How to filter all video files on disk

I simply want to filter all video files on a disk including all video files in all folders and all subfolders. It seems that the filter feature only functions on the single folder level. Am I correct? If so, then what I want is not possible. Can someone enlighten me regarding this question? Thx, Rob

Thanks! That worked - but method was not exactly intuitive.

I was looking for something like "copy directory listing" either under Edit or via context menu. I'll try to remember next time ...

Copy/paste directory list

I simply want to copy/paste a directory list to a text file.

I have scoured the manual and this forum but see no way to do this!

Very simple request - what am I missing? There must be a way!

Thx, Rob

I use the foldersize service when monitoring size is important, as it caches the sizes once they are determined, so they don't need to be recalculated on each visit. And it can be turned on or off easily via Control Panel, so you can run it only when you want to. Thanks for the foldersize link! Exa...

The x2 UM states (under 'Sorting items'): "Click on a column header to toggle sorting direction. There are three possible sorting states: “ascending”, “descending” and “unsorted”. When a column is sorted, a triangle in its column header indicates the sorting direction: It points upwards for “ascendi...

Okay, all well and good. I found this statement in the UM: "To see the sizes of all folders displayed in the active pane, press CTRL+D (menu option: Tools | Subfolder size). The active folder pane shows sizes of subfolders, instead of showing <folder> against them". That's great - but I'd really lik...

Thanks for the reply. I have included below a snapshot of my x2 folder pane. You can see the 'Treesize' column next to the 'Size' column. 'Size' is not showing the folder size while 'Treesize' does show folder size. I used ALT+K to add the 'Treesize' column. Yes, Treesize can be used to display "tre...

Treesize column sort not working

I'm running Treesize Personal on my WinXP Home system. When using WE, a 'Treesize' column is displayed which shows the size of every file and folder. Clicking the 'Treesize' column header sorts the displayed listing in either ascending or descending order by the "Treesize" value.   I have configured...

Thanks narayan! Yes, that works. However, it only works on files - not folders. When I use WE, and hover on a folder, a "info-box" is displayed showing the folder size and a list of the first 3 file names in the folder. I'm thinking this may be a result of some other software I'm running (eg, Treesi...
