Re: blog: to bitcoin or not to bitcoin?

What's curious here is not the cynical conservatism regarding bitcoinage, but rather the lack of recognition that it's going to change the world we live in whether we want it to or not. Despite his reiterated negativity on the broader subject, Nikos' continued interest betrays his baser instincts: w...

Re: bitdefender blocks zabkat?

In keeping with the long tradition of good Russian/Greek relations, Kaspersky has no problems. That being said, Zabkat is HTTP, whereas many AV web-scanners these days continuously force people (by default) into not trusting anything that isn't HTTPS, so whiny certificate issues tend to aris...

Re: blog: manage static websites with visual studio

Indeed. I should also mention that there's no need to compound the insults given to GitHub, as the name speaks for itself , whether or not the ever-coprolalic Linus Torvalds was aware of that when he applied the nomenclature. Spending some time trying to determine any real connexion between a Git (i...

...misandric bunch of people with whom I really don't want to have anything to do. Out of 360 million people who speak English as their first language, you (who don't) just managed to write a sentence which 99% of them would have grammatically failed to do correctly. This sort of behaviour is reall...

Re: Khronos: A Plugin for Ageing Gracefully

You, being someone who continuously adds weird stuff into a file manager, should be a strong advocate of the "one less external tool" thing that fascinates modern media so much. Actually, I'm not - Buckminster Fuller's synergistic observations relating to "behaviour of whole systems being unpredict...

Re: Khronos: A Plugin for Ageing Gracefully

Plus, the built-in static code analyzer (GCC needs a plug-in for that according to what I pretend to know) is not the worst option you have on Windows. Given the tentacles which IDE's have taken to extending into the mix, the distinction between what is a plugin for GCC or what is a plugin for anot...

...there is still Clang... So, just for the laughs and giggles, I spent some time playing around with Clang LLVM to see what the fuss is about... Curiously enough, despite a ridiculous install-size of 830Mb it doesn't actually ship with any Windows-compatible includes or libraries - essentially all...

Re: xplorer2 v3.5 final released

Funny thing, when Vista Effects are disabled, only 'List' style is effected... details ('report') style still responds to the changeable EASYBGMENU state. Odd. Nonetheless I will use the color tags; they are nice. They'd be nicer if the rectangle had uniform thickness . Just sayin'. ...

Re: xplorer2 v3.5 final released

That's ok - glad it works. Nikos deserves this kind of messy thread for making us jump through these silly hoops to begin with. He is a moderator after all, let him edit it all out. * But if he removes the quip about "butt-protection" I'll make it my life's purpose to just keep kicking out of...

Re: xplorer2 v3.5 final released

Well, you must have done something wrong, because I've been using the setting for the last year or so without issue. (I just tested it by subtracting to deactivate it and then reapplied and both states acted as expected.) Remember that it must be done for both left and right panes separately, with x...

Re: xplorer2 v3.5 final released

A color-tagged label in list view ought to work (it's only my opinion of course) like full-row select in details view. That would be solved by this (CLVOPT_NOEASYBGMENU). Applies to both 'details' and 'list' pane styles. Of course, if you actually like the god-awful (evil, evil, evil) EASYBGMENU, t...

Re: Khronos: A Plugin for Ageing Gracefully

I've read that GCC, in general, is far from being a decent compiler, it tends to over-optimize your code by removing deliberately inserting verbose debugging. The joy of efficiency, I guess. If MinGW - we had this discussion... :D - will fail as expected, there is still Clang to sweep it up. It's u...

Re: Khronos: A Plugin for Ageing Gracefully

Doesn't the inclusion of "efficiency improvements" basically tell us that previous versions were not efficient Well, some memory allocations were... um... "over-provisioned", and multi-threaded applications are a royal patoot's-behind to make efficient on the first try. So, I made stuff "better". :...

Re: xplorer2 v3.5 final released

Yeah, I figured you'd do that much (it only took about 10 minutes to make this menu, so it's hardly quantum tech), but the more pressing question is will you add proper colour configuration nonsense to the advanced settings thingy like you should? I mean, who manually edits the registry any more bes...

Re: Khronos: A Plugin for Ageing Gracefully

Version 0.0.2.5 is now available (see links in original post at the top of this thread), bringing a few new features, efficiency improvements, bugfixes, etc. To update, just use the x2 Plugin Manager to disable the plugin, replace the file with the new one, then re-enable it. Any previously modified...
