Re: blog: dark mode listview controls

you can limit how many bookmarks appear in the menu... but then you won't have icons for all of them if you add them on toolbars Ah, sōdesu ka, Nikos-san. Who would ever think to look for something called "Menu Column Break"? I mean, really... Should have been called "Super Trans-Gal...

Re: blog: dark mode listview controls

dark mode black magic basics... (but then scrollers get white) Always a nice sign when there's an explicit void FixDarkScrollBar(), to suggest the void is indeed a void. Menus with a horizontal break paint white, don't know why... Which is why amongst the chaff, I suggested something about truncati...

Re: blog: dark mode listview controls

That would be just a tad over 500 words, I'll have you know; Like all things in life, I did say the nutritional value might be less than the label suggests. Resurrection is not pretty. It is not delightful. It is not celebratory. Like all things internet-related, curiosity is not well rewa...

Re: blog: dark mode listview controls

Have a look at this thread [...] and give us some updates Well, "Updates" is such a strong word, and one unlikely to indicate the actual nutritional values of what it says on the tin. As per the thread, though, it's a little disturbing the lengths people will go through to increase...

Re: blog: dark mode listview controls

Not directly related to listviews, but I discovered an odd side effect in this darkmode pursuit of yours. I don't know what method you used to colour the backgrounds of context-menus, but I was working on an update for another plugin of mine (that has its own GUI) when I right-clicked in an editing ...

Re: SizeES: A Plugin for Fast, Persistent FolderSizes in x2 via Everything Search

Just remember that v6 needs substance more than a "facelift". Bah!

We'll also note that when those other FM's incorporated ES, they didn't just use it for search, they used it for this. Just sayin'.

Re: SizeES: A Plugin for Fast, Persistent FolderSizes in x2 via Everything Search

you know about the other "official" foldersize solution for this purpose, right? But no problem reinventing the wheel! <Sigh> One day you will actually read my posts (which are trying to help you - you ungrateful wretch!), and you'd see that I already acknowledged its pallid existence... ...

Re: SizeES: A Plugin for Fast, Persistent FolderSizes in x2 via Everything Search

According to tradition, Lazarus never smiled during the thirty years after his resurrection, worried by the sight of unredeemed souls he had seen during his four-day stay in Hell. The only exception was, when he saw someone stealing a pot, he smilingly said: "the clay steals the clay." Wo...

SizeES: A Plugin for Fast, Persistent FolderSizes in x2 via Everything Search

So there I was, riding through Paris in a sportscar with the warm wind in my hair, when Thanos snapped his fingers... and... poof... Anyway... I saw that other FMs are embedding this Everything tool, I might consider it but wouldn't know how to go about it. Which is why you dragged me back from the ...

Re: blog: to bitcoin or not to bitcoin?

What's curious here is not the cynical conservatism regarding bitcoinage, but rather the lack of recognition that it's going to change the world we live in whether we want it to or not. Despite his reiterated negativity on the broader subject, Nikos' continued interest betrays his baser instincts: w...

Re: bitdefender blocks zabkat?

In keeping with the long tradition of good Russian/Greek relations, Kaspersky has no problems. That being said, Zabkat is HTTP, whereas many AV web-scanners these days continuously force people (by default) into not trusting anything that isn't HTTPS, so whiny certificate issues tend to aris...

Re: blog: manage static websites with visual studio

Indeed. I should also mention that there's no need to compound the insults given to GitHub, as the name speaks for itself , whether or not the ever-coprolalic Linus Torvalds was aware of that when he applied the nomenclature. Spending some time trying to determine any real connexion between a Git (i...

...misandric bunch of people with whom I really don't want to have anything to do. Out of 360 million people who speak English as their first language, you (who don't) just managed to write a sentence which 99% of them would have grammatically failed to do correctly. This sort of behaviour is reall...

Re: Khronos: A Plugin for Ageing Gracefully

You, being someone who continuously adds weird stuff into a file manager, should be a strong advocate of the "one less external tool" thing that fascinates modern media so much. Actually, I'm not - Buckminster Fuller's synergistic observations relating to "behaviour of whole systems ...

Re: Khronos: A Plugin for Ageing Gracefully

Plus, the built-in static code analyzer (GCC needs a plug-in for that according to what I pretend to know) is not the worst option you have on Windows. Given the tentacles which IDE's have taken to extending into the mix, the distinction between what is a plugin for GCC or what is a plugin for anot...
