Re: xplorer2 v5.2 (FINAL) released
There is already a /S switch on the uninstall, but the popup asking about settings ignores it. The rest of the uninstall is silent with the switch however.

Re: xplorer2 v5.2 (FINAL) released
The goal is always to give the user options. In this case, the option to uninstall without needing interaction. I'm not suggesting that you shouldn't allow users to choose whether they leave or remove their settings. Rather, I'm requesting that there be a way to indicate that via the command line.

Re: xplorer2 v5.2 (FINAL) released
Thanks for all the silent install options switches! One question... While there is a /S uninstall switch, it's not silent due to the window that pops up about removing settings in the registry. Any chance that could get a switch too so the uninstall can be non-interactive? (I realize that it also op...

Re: Any chance for silent install options
Just bumping this as I see another release and no new silent options.
I do see that the NSIS installer has been changed to unicode. Is that in preparation for more silent install options?

Re: v5.1 final released
I'm disappointed. No new silent install options.
I suppose I should have kept tabs on the forum and spoke up when the feature request went out.

Re: Any chance for silent install options
I'll just add one more thing... The Chocolatey public repository makes it pretty easy for package maintainers to grant maintainership to other developers. The Chocolatey admins insist that packages must be legal and have always welcomed software authors/vendors who want to maintain packages for thei...

Re: Any chance for silent install options
Are you familiar with package managers? If all you are doing is installing a single application, the advantage of a Chocolatey package is that you don't need to go find/download/install the latest version of the software, don't need to check-on/find/install it's dependencies, can let Chocolatey tell...

Re: Any chance for silent install options
Yes. I am the package maintainer. 8) I maintain a lot of Chocolatey packages, and I really try to do the best job that I can to make them flexible for users and appealing for folks browsing through the repository. Although I feel that I am promoting the applications for which I have created packages...

Re: Any chance for silent install options
I know Chocolatey ! Quite well, actually. The reason X2 pro and lite aren't current is because, frankly, it's a fiddly PITA to maintain options via AutoHotKey when the installer doesn't have integrated options and certain choices are available only at install. It's a good thing someone st...

Re: Any chance for silent install options
Ultimately this is just a request for an additional feature. Plenty of other features that have been added to X² could have been accomplished through various other applications or other workarounds, but Nikos saw the benefit of adding them. Maybe this feature is less "sexy" that other feat...

Re: Any chance for silent install options
I am not into rebuilding but isn't there a way you can snapshot your entire system, with installed apps and all so you don't need to install things one by one? Snapshots have their place, but sometimes it's easier/faster to just start over with a clean setup. Since Xplorer2 is one of my requirement...

Re: Any chance for silent install options
An automation script like the ones you'd make with AHK or AutoIt could easily solve this, it's also flexible and extensible and can be applied to anything that doesn't have a silent install feature. I suppose but why make "everyone" (OK, a handful -- but hopefully growing -- of geeks) inv...

Re: Any chance for silent install options
Every time I rebuild one of my machines.
I have most of the process automated (including getting the latest version), but X2 is one of only a few things I have to do manually.

Any chance for silent install options
Hi. I know about the '/S' switch for a silent, default install, but there are some options (e.g. "replace windows explorer") that are only available at install time. IMHO, those options are more likely to be desired by more advanced users, which means the very people who are more likely to...

Re: Delete keyboard option not working?
did you remove these yourself or was there some sort of snag? Unless there is a key command that I fat-fingered, I did not remove anything. I think this was happening on 2 of my 3 machines too although now that I've gone and "fixed" it, I can't be entirely certain about that. Nevertheless...
