Not quite true with previous version 1.8.0.13 but I'll see with the latest version.
In older version, clicking on x2 tabs or in current folder window would just 'hang' until it responded.
I often got (Not Responding) errors.

For me dual-trees is not needed. In MS Explorer I always want the tree and details list, but I've gotten used to working differently with X2. Now I never use the tree and simply use dual-pane.
