Re: blog: test covid tests

Once again Nikos, rather than be right, you prefer to appear un-fooled. Rapid tests are less reliable than the nasal swabs and others. So, the answer to that, as you say, is either to use two or three rapid tests or use the better tests. Simple. Testing is good, it reveals who is sick, who needs tre...

Read this: "How some countries controlled the coronavirus while others have surges." ( https://www.businessinsider.com/how-countries-controlled-coronavirus-masks-testing-tracing-plan-2020-11 ) The key point: "According to public-health experts, these successes are the result of a clear recipe: Creat...

Re: blog: stuck between a rock and a hard place

There was the 1st wave lock down now the 2nd wave lock-down, how many lock-downs will be required to contain this flu like epidemic? Can economies be sustained through free money at the expense of the tax payer, is this sustainable? How many? However many are necessary. Trump had information about ...

Re: blog: stuck between a rock and a hard place

Thanks lnbrantley, I agree completely. Nikos, it sounds to me like you're resistant to convincing. I don't know why. I'd suggest you do what you said, trust logic. Also, trust experts. If we have x2 problems, we go to you. If we have infectious disease problems, who better to go to than Fauci? To th...

Re: blog: stuck between a rock and a hard place

You're an intelligent man, but this is not an intelligent blog post. I have no desire to rebut each of your points--I live in the US under Trump and I'm exhausted. I'll deal with two issues you raise. First, "Naive measures like 2m distancing, washing the hands and masks clearly don't work to preven...

"This background worker is very busy"?

Hi Nikos, et al.: I saw a message from x2 (Ult x64, 4.4) that I've never seen before: --------------------------- xplorer² --------------------------- This background worker is very busy Shall we try opening a new xplorer2 window? --------------------------- Yes No --------------------------- I said...

Re: My company now blocks your download URL

I figured out what I have to do now: download updates and install them when my laptop is not hooked up to the company network. I did that this morning and all is well. :D ( )

Re: My company now blocks your download URL

I sent them the Virus Total report--thanks. I'll see what they say. But the problem is I can't download x2 anymore--the link gets intercepted, so using it in portable mode is moot. I'm running 3.4.0.0 right now--I can't get the latest version.

My company now blocks your download URL

Nikos: This is maddening because it's stupid. I tried to download the latest version of xplorer2 Ultimate and when I clicked the link I got a page with this message: Virus/Spyware Download Blocked Download of the virus/spyware has been blocked in accordance with company policy. Please contact your s...

Re: Change the row selection color?

Oh yeah. Thanks. I tweaked the background colors a bit, darkened them slightly, but I'm not sure it did much to the selection color. Anyway, it isn't a national emergency.

Change the row selection color?

Is it possible to change the highlight color of the selected item or items in x2? I thought it was but I can't find it among the various options. After a recent Windows update and a complete uninstall/reinistall, the highlight color is kind of purple and offensive to me. I'd really like to change it.

Ah. Thanks man. I've got my workaround: I renamed the column "End of Line......." I'm good. Thanks again.

Re: Saving settings without disktop.ini litter

Thanks folks. I was thinking I'd have to uninstall, reinstall, and rebuild my x2 from scratch. But all I want is one column to be a few pixels wider! I'm just going to live with what I've got, which is pretty close to perfection. This all started because I didn't want to see ".Endian" tacked onto th...

Do you have desktop.ini files in any of those folders?
No. And I don't want to have to rely on them.
