Re: new era: xplorer2 compressed archive enabled!
if it works in windows explorer it should also work in xplorer2!? I tested it some more and vanilla portable installation works just fine. After I transfer x2settings.ini from my "set up just right" version it stops opening rar and 7z archives as folders (zip work just fine). I guess I wi...

Re: new era: xplorer2 compressed archive enabled!
Is there a way to have this functionality working on a portable installation, assuming host PC has NSE installed? I am using X2 Ultimate on Win10 x64. RAR folders open in Windows Explorer, but not in X2.

Thank you very much, that helped.nikos wrote:I don't know why this happens to some people, perhaps you have too many icon overlays, but anyway the solution/workaround is to turn off the overlays from TOOLS > OPTIONS menu, ADVANCED page

Missing folder icons
Hi, I am observing missing folder icons for the folders that are being synced to Onedrive. The rest of the folders icons, including for Dropbox appear fine. This is a latest 64bit Xplorer Ultimate on a Win 10 x64 Thinkpad Helix. I tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling. Folder icons appear i...

Re: Indexing
Lack of native index also puts me off. I have about 1TB worth of various documents that are kept on a NAS that I use Copernicus to search. I don't believe I can configure Windows Index to scan a NAS, so DeskRule won't be much help in my case.

Re: Suggestion on moving/copying lots of files
what you can do to resume a failed copy without copying everything from the start is to set the robust options to "overwrite if newer else skip" mode. Then files that were already copied will be skipped How will that option help with the file that was being copied at the time of interrupt...

That raises another question, is it possible to let GMail be the default client? Someone? But no problems. There is a free program called Affixa http://www.affixa.com/ that allows you to right click on a file and generates an attachment in gmail. Their payed version allows you to send files larger...

Hi, Maybe the reason is that the free version offers 'most' users what they need - a dual pane file manager. I noticed that the 'free' version was sort-of hidden on the site (like skins 'were' :)) which probably helped in some way to avoid people choosing it. When people use the free version and th...

I think that there are a lot of potential x2 users. Problem is, they don't know they need it. This your average email and office user. What's even worse is that even if you show them, they still prefer to do things in a cumbersome way through explorer, rather than spend a little time learning a bett...

Drive Bar with Volume labels
Is there any way to make drive bar display volume labels? With various USB devices it's often difficult to figure out what is what by letter alone.

I am just curious. In your recent blog post you wrote about slowing sales (and profits) of xplorer2. That was certainly worrisome news both for you (I am sure) and for the users of xplorer2 such as myself. I invested a lot of time learning the workings of it (which is a lot more valuable to me than ...
