Re: v6
Some menu options such as actions/change attributes don't seem to be available in a browse flat window. There are times when this would have been helpful.

Re: Copy to preserve dates function
I need to apologize. I don't know what I was doing wrong before, but when I test now it is working correctly. I do apologize for taking up your time needlessly.

Re: Copy to preserve dates function
Not sure what you mean by normal and special. I have two physical hard drives on the PC. They are both regular sata drives formatted with NTFS. Neither is special other than that one has the boot partition. Using "copy to" with preserve file dates set does not preserve the create date if I...

Re: Copy to preserve dates function
Aha. I think that explains it. I have two hard drives on my system. The Created Date is preserved only if I am copying to the same drive, not if I copy from one drive to the other. So is there any way to preserve all dates copying across drives?

Copy to preserve dates function
I'm not sure if this is a bug or I am misunderstanding something: When I use the "copy to" function and select the option "Preserve all original file and folder dates (created etc.)" the "created date(s)" changes to the current date. I am using version 5.4.0.2 x64 6/14/...

Re: Copy Picture Date
Got it. Sorry for being dense. I was looking at the ACTIONS > CHANGE ATTRIBUTES.

Re: Copy Picture Date
I don't think I was clear. I have a large number of pictures where I need to copy the date/time in the picture date column to the modified date column. Is there a way to automate that?

Copy Picture Date
I would like to set up a macro to copy the Picture Date to the Modified date for all the files in a folder. Is this doable?

Re: Unknown file attribute
OK, never mind. I did a little more research on my own and found that the "i" attribute is the Not content indexed file attribute . and is apparently not the reason the file could not be modified or deleted. The reason for that was the security/ownership setting of the file. Not sure how t...

Unknown file attribute
I have 4 files with an attribute of I or L which seems to be preventing the file being modified or deleted. Can you tell me what this attribute is and how it can be removed.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: SSD Shredding Message
Nikos, I didn't mean to keep pestering you on this hopefully minor issue, but I have a new observation which might help. If I try to shred an empty folder, Xplorer2 fails to remove it, and apparently grabs ownership of the folder so that subsequent attempts to delete it fail with The action can't be...

Re: SSD Shredding Message
bq3419,
Thanks for the info. I am indeed on version 2004. I am hesitant to force an install of the newest version before it is officially released. To your knowledge does the trim bug pose any threat to the health of my PC?

Re: SSD Shredding Message
Nikos, Thanks for your attention to this. I have gone over the UEFI BIOS manual in detail and the only setting I could find which could relate to drive type is whether AHCI is turned on. Apparently AHCI is always used for SSD and sometimes for hard drives depending on whether they can handle it. It ...

Re: SSD Shredding Message
Thanks. I'll follow up on my end to see if I can find an issue which would fool your SSD check. If I find anything I will let you know.

Re: SSD Shredding Message
I am not a programmer in the environment you are talking about (I used to program mainframes in COBOL). So I am just letting you know that the SSD check is not working on my PC. My system has two Western Digital Blue hard drives, model WDBH200020HNC-NRSN if that is a help. For my own information I w...
