Re: Any news from Kilmatead?

I spend some time searching the web for Kilmatead. I did find a couple of old forum posts, which undoubtedly are his, however they didn't expose his address. Also found a review on Slant called "What are the best file managers for Windows?". One comment about xplorer2 was referring to Kilm...

Re: How to update my portable version?

Thanks, I'll probably go for the second option, which is closest to a "portable installation". As to your "moral insights", thanks for sharing, but I have my own reasons for putting my tools on an USB stick. I'm probably not the professional you had in mind, although I'm working ...

How to update my portable version?

The download wants to install xplorer2 ultimate on my host computer. Is this intended? Should I indeed first install it on my host computer, do some tricky things to preserve my settings, copy it to my USB stick en uninstall it from my host? If so, does it leave traces on my host? Sorry for asking b...

Upgrade from Pro to Ultimate edition

Today I wanted to upgrade my pro edition (v3.4.0.1) to the ultimate edition. I expected a discount. I quote "If you own a license to xplorer² professional v3.x you can upgrade to the ultimate version paying just the difference in price ($20). Please have your v3.x professional unlock key ready ...

Re: xplorer2 HACK : Convert any menu item to a toolbar butto

You use a resource editor (such as that of a development IDE) or just use ResourceHacker a well-known, fully-featured, free editor. You use it to open the x2 EXE binary file, and then look at the goo inside, specifically item MENU 128). You can have a lot more (semi-officially sanctioned!) f...

Re:

This is a simple command line tool which tells X2 which command to execute. I can't think of any other additions to it. The only change that I have made was to recompile it with latest the version of AutoIt3. The link in the original post has been updated. The Menu_Commands.txt file has not been up...

Which ribbon bar commands are lacking?

I'm one of the very few who really likes ribbon bars  However, in the help file I found a note saying "Most xplorer² menu commands are present on the ribbon but for accessing all the commands you need to turn off the ribbon from "File" menu." Is there a list of those missin...

Re: Setting Colored Folder Icons in x2 (Revisited)

Hi! Just found this nice looking tool. In the unlikely event that it isn't my cup of tea after all, how do I remove it? Skipping through the source code, it looks like I have to remove some registry entries? Second question -because I'm too chicken to test it my self- is this tool also capable of ch...

Nice job! I'm particularly fond of the native tab in quick previewer. By the way congrats with your 7th anniversary! I bought X2 in July 2, 2004 - so that makes me an early adopter, right? Noticed that the price hasn't changed much since than. By the way a minor bug exists in the new version: if you...
