Like I said, it won't color folders that have empty subfolders.
But it will mark folders that have no files and no subfolders, right?

Re: mark "not empty" folders
I use a color coding rule:
Contents value from 0 to 0
That colors all folders that are completely empty.
It won't color folders containing empty subfolders.

Question on duplicate check v 5.1
So the new duplicate check / compare contents in 5.1 and newer does statistical comparison for files larger than the value of nMaxDupeContentMB , which can be set up to 250 MB. That means if you want to do an exact match of files over 250 MB, which you could do in 5.0 and earlier, you can't do that ...

Re: declone .16 finds similar pics
using beta .19 to find similar pics: Agree with Gandalf - this just doesn't work for me. I would prefer to be able to turn off all attributes - ignore names, ignore date taken, ignore size, ignore them all. If Aspect Ratio was an attribute, that would make sense. Otherwise the only measure considere...

Re: declone .11 finds similar files too
Not impressed! 98%, finds files that are totally different. Agreed. Not at all useful for me in finding similar pictures. Seems to be too much emphasis on similarity of attributes and not nearly enough (or any?) on similarity of the images themselves. I need to find images that look similar regardl...

Re: declone: with duplicate selection wizard
i haven't thought about working with the results while the search is active, as they are premature and more could be added. The best policy is to ignore declone and do something else until the search is complete I wouldn't want to start selecting or deleting anything while the search is active. I'd...

Re: declone: now finds duplicates
have you ever tried xplorer2 similar pic feature? www.zabkat.com/blog/bad-photo-cleanup.htm I tried it a few times shortly after you first introduced it. My recollection is that it didn't work as well for my purposes as the apps I mentioned earlier. I'll try it again. Do you plan to use the same lo...

Re: declone: now finds duplicates
Gandolf, Yes, give the latest version of Find.Same.Images.OK another try. I'm using 4.49 and see false positives at the 90% comparison level only when there is a very tiny difference between images. More often I have to crank it down to 80% or 75% to match images that DupDetector catches at 99% . I ...

Re: declone: with duplicate selection wizard
1) While Phase 3 is running, you see the first few results, but you can't interact with that window at all until phase 3 is finished. Would it be possible to allow at least some interaction, for instance: Scroll down the list to see more than the first few items? Expand the width of the Folder Path...

Oh, Declone doesn't do similarity check yet, so can't compare.

Re: declone: now finds duplicates
The odd occasions I've tried similar file checking utilities I've not been impressed. One regarded as similar a photo of my black cat and one of a Caribbean friend, who dresses in black, as similar! Gandalf, Two recommendations for finding similar photos: 1) DupDetector from Prismatic Software I us...

Re: testers wanted
When "Find exact duplicates only" is selected, I thought that would mean 100% content match, but I see that you need to also need to check "Compare file content (slower)" on the advanced tab in order to get an exact match on content. Does anyone else find that a bit non-intuitive...

Re: Show Free space in target of junction/link?
Cool!
One more note should this someday considered as worthy of adding as an option:
It would need to find the free space of the ultimate target rather than the immediate target in the case that the target of a junction is another junction.

Re: Show Free space in target of junction/link?
Well, I was thinking maybe it could be one of those advanced options that I could turn on to satisfy my personal fetishes without burdening everyone else.
But if I'm the only that would use this, forget it.

Re: Show Free space in target of junction/link?
Of course.
But I'd like to see the free space without having to go into the target.
