Re: System dialog displaying 'behind' xplorer2 window

Just a normal delete: I open xplorer2, select a folder and press the Delete key. If the folder contains a thumbs.db (or other system) file the windows 'Delete File' dialog is invoked by the system asking me whether I want to delete a system file, but the dialog is not visible due to it being 'behind...

System dialog displaying 'behind' xplorer2 window

Whenever I delete a folder containing a system file (e.g. thumbs.db) the system dialog requesting confirmation is always displayed 'behind' xplorer2 (I used to think xplorer2 had stalled until I realised what was happening) and I have to click the xplorer2 window in order to access the dialog and co...

Re: Reading subfolders... (ESC to abort)

I think I have identified the culprit: if I deselect "Calculate subfolders size automatically" in advanced options, the problem goes away. The strange thing is that this option has been selected from day 1 and has not been an issue until recently. Although the solution requires me to manually CTRL+D...

Re: Reading subfolders... (ESC to abort)

I did check the blog - yes - but nothing on there is likely to help as I haven't done anything (except for software updates) to the setup since installing it 2 years ago and it has been working flawlessly until recently. I have now gone back to 4.0.0.1 and this has made no difference (as you predict...

Re: Reading subfolders... (ESC to abort)

There's nothing special about any of my bookmarks - they have not changed since I set them up over 2 years ago when I first bought xplorer2. Everything was fine until 4.1.0.1 - then the 'freeze' occured every time I clicked in an icon on the bookmark toolbar. Version 4.2.0.1 does the same - and both...

Reading subfolders... (ESC to abort)

Since version 4.1.0.1 xplorer2 has been freezing for [upto] several minutes when clicking on a bookmark with the message "Reading subfolders... (ESC to abort)" displayed in the statusbar. Unfortunately pressing ESC has no effect (other than adding 'not responding' to the title bar) and I usually end...

Re: Dual Pane Color Coding

Yes - I already had that setting checked - but it does not solve the issue as it is referring to the active/inactive pane rather than the 'new' pane which appears after switching to dual-pane mode (whereby folder contents are displayed in the 'new' pane without color coding until it is manually swit...

Dual Pane Color Coding

When I configured color (and style) coding for different file types, they only got applied to the 'primary' pane (i.e. when I switched to dual pane the coding was not displayed in the 2nd pane). This was fixed by configuring color coding for the 2nd pane separately - but the "Custom color coding" me...

I take it that your xplorer2 is 64 bit (?)
Yes.

can you try quickly the 32 bit version, does it fail the same? e.g the free lite one www.zabkat.com/x2lite.htm
Ok - I just tried it and can confirm that it fails the same way (my phone has just upgraded itself to Android 8.0, btw).

Re: Cannot write to Android MicroSD card

anyway, if ctrl+V works, why don't you try copying a whole folder then ctrl+V in the destination? As I said earlier, CTRL-V only works for files - not folders - in xplorer2. It's not the end of the world as I can always use WE to copy stuff to my phone - but it is a pity as I absolutely love xplore...

Re: Cannot write to Android MicroSD card

I'm guessing MTP as this seems to be the default setting and I have not changed it. I can still use CTRL-V - but only for individual files, not folders. Since I cannot use xplorer2 to create folders I am therefore unable to use it to [for example] copy my music library from my PC to my phone's micro...

Re: Cannot write to Android MicroSD card

This is becoming very irritating now... I can copy files to the MicroSD card on my Samsung Galaxy 8+ and create files/folders on it without issues using Windows Explorer, but cannot do any of those functions using xplorer2 Ultimate (4.0.0.1). I don't have an Android tablet to try it on. Can anyone e...

Cannot write to Android MicroSD card

If I open a pane in xplorer2 ultimate (3.5.0.2) for my Samsung S8+ MicroSD card I cannot create folders (the menu is greyed out) or drag and drop files (a little red no-entry sign appears) onto it - yet I am able to do both using Windows Explorer. Even after successfully writing (via Explorer) to th...
