Re: Feature Request: Set sort order for each tab

do you want your registry to be 50% full of xplorer2 tab settings? I don't think so! I found this topic via search, initially assuming I was experiencing a bug. I'm confused why you would mention the registry filling up. I keep about 10 tabs open typically. Xplorer2 has no problem remembering those...

Migrating xplorer2 to a new OS install

Getting ready to install xplorer2 on a new HD. I seem to recall in the past exporting settings, importing on a new pc, and some of my settings or customizations were lost. What settings, options, or customizations are NOT backed up via the Actions -> Export settings command? Taking a look at the x2s...

Re: Version 3.2.0.2 breaks batch scripts

Replying to my own post here..

Looking at another thread, I decided to try turning off the option "don't lock browsed folder", and that has fixed the problem.

Is this behavior going to change? I prefer to not lock the browsed folder, but I also want my batch scripts to run properly.

Version 3.2.0.2 breaks batch scripts

Until upgrading to 3.2.0.2 (I was running 3.2 previously), executing batch scripts worked fine. Now, the batch window opens and closes, but does nothing. Running the same batch script using Explorer works fine. Here is an example batch script transfer.bat: copy folder\foo.txt . If I run transfer.bat...

Re: Search for text within Excel files

For what it's worth, you need to be sure that Windows is actually indexing the contents of .XLSX files, as here . It may not be doing this for the files' current location by default. It was evidently an indexing issue. Just going into my indexing settings in Control Panel and looking at my settings...

Re: Search for text within Excel files

Yes, I am logged in as Administrator.

Could it be an obscure Xplorer2 option? I don't mess around with the options too much, but the settings were brought in from my install on a previous PC.

Re: Search for text within Excel files

Yes, I am using Xplorer2 Ultimate 3.1.0.1. I do have "Search all files" selected.

Here is a screenshot showing the Excel file, the Find Files dialog with parameters, and the search results.

And here is a link to the Excel file I am trying to search within.

Thanks.

Search for text within Excel files

I need to search a folder with couple hundred excel workbooks for several text strings. Since the files are in hex, this is not working. I did find an old zabkat blog post from 2007 which suggests this is possible with iFilters.

Is there a way to do this in 2016?
