Firstly, ensure Xplorer2 is closed before you try to install the new version.
Try to install it again.
This may have been the problem.
Or, you could try installing to a different directory, i.e.

I just tried Dirkey. My experience is that it opens a new instance of x2, which I do not want. Are there any switches so that the directory is loaded in the active pane?
