Re: Windows 10 April Update and date/time stamp of eml files

These eml files are saved by drag & drop from Thunderbird as a way to create instant manual backups. These date changes never happened before the April Update. The problem is not the infotip. The problem is that the file date/time stamp is altered. It is visible in xplorer² if you have these eml fil...

Re: Ejecting a USB key after Windows 10 1803 April Update

Ejecting a USB key or an external drive is now working flawlessly from the right-click menu in xplorer² Drive Bar. This is the result of installing the latest KB (May 8, 2018—KB4103721 (OS Build 17134.48)). Problem solved!

Windows 10 April Update and date/time stamp of eml files

At first, I could not believe my eyes. But it was actually happening: whenever I hover the mouse pointer over a file with eml extension, the file date/time stamps that are displayed within the popup tooltip are automatically changed to the current date/time! This is an offspring of Windows 10 April ...

Re: Ejecting a USB key after Windows 10 1803 April Update

As I said, If I use the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Windows taskbar to eject the drive, it does not get ejected if the drive contents are still being displayed in xplorer². I need to display a different drive in xplorer² or close xplorer² to be able to actually eject the drive through the Saf...

Re: Ejecting a USB key after Windows 10 1803 April Update

When I insert an external hard drive, the xplorer² Drive Bar updates correctly. If I right-click the corresponding Drive Bar Letter, I have “Safely remove” as top command. If I click that command, I get some kind of communication between the drive and the system but the drive is not disconnected and...

Re: Ejecting a USB key after Windows 10 1803 April Update

I just found out why right-drag was not working: I had set “Item Icons” to “no icons”. As soon as I reset it to “Normal”, right-drag started working again. Problem solved!
But I’ll go back to “no icons”. I don’t need icons! File names and extensions are quite enough.

Re: Ejecting a USB key after Windows 10 1803 April Update

It is not happening on my system (Windows 10 Home). But I am not sure it ever happened. I never noticed anything of the kind. This might be due to the fact that my mouse is controlled by X-Mouse Button Control . I do have a problem with the mouse though, and this is not linked to the Windows April U...

Re: Ejecting a USB key after Windows 10 1803 April Update

After eject from the Drive Bar, the drive letter is still showing in both the Drive Bar and My Computer. If I eject from My Computer, the drive letter is removed from the xplorer² Drive Bar, but it is still showing in My Computer. If I unplug the USB key, the drive letter is removed from the xplorer...

Ejecting a USB key after Windows 10 1803 April Update

This is after Windows 10 1803 April Update. If I use the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Windows taskbar to eject a USB Drive, the icon vanishes from the Notification Area after ejection of the drive. If I use the xplorer² “Eject” command in the right-click menu of the xplorer² Drive Bar, the cor...

Re: Ghost Drive Letter in Windows 10 April Update

I found a solution to this at How to Remove Phantom Drives:
command promt as administrator
diskpart
list volume (you can now see which volume has letter)
select volume x (x is the volume number of the letter you want removed)
remove letter=x (x is the selected volume letter)
This did the trick! :D

Ghost Drive Letter in Windows 10 April Update

Windows 10 1803 April Update automatically creates a new “Recovery Partition”. The files and folders in that “Recovery Drive” are out of bounds and remain invisible to all file managers. That “Recovery Partition” is still given a Drive Letter. Would there be any way to hide that useless drive letter...

Re: How to display help in default browser?

I found a workaround of sorts.
I have created an xplorer² User Command with "C:\Program Files\xplorer2_ult\x2help.htm" as the command-line and “Ctrl+1” as shortcut. “Ctrl+1” now brings up the help from within xplorer² and it opens in Firefox. :D

Here is from http://kb.mozillazine.org/Links_to_local_pages_do_not_work Links to local pages do not work For security purposes, Mozilla applications block links to local files (and directories) from remote files. This includes linking to files on your hard drive, on mapped network drives, and access...
