Re: Way to mass rename folders only?

x2 can do exactly what you want if you first load up a scrap container with the folders you want to rename. Install Kilmetead's LocaleSearch tool. With LocaleSearch installed, select the top-level folders you want to have all their sub-folders renamed and press the toolbar button you created. Clear ...

Re: baby steps towards deep paths

Rats? I didn't get that from K's ramblings, more of the Mikey variety of home pests not WIllard. Well, in that case, by all means forget the cat and get a borzoi instead! Great for rats, cats, even ground moles and opossum. However, if the neighbor's child has a kitten, then it's near certai...

Re: xplorer2 half price sale today

There is, weirdly, a toolbar button which is for "Donate" I'm beginning to understand the origins of the phrase "It's Greek to me"! Has nothing to do with the character set of the words, but with the mindset (or lack thereof?) of the user base. And don't encourage him to add a toolbar button for "A...

Re: xplorer2 half price sale today

Why do you make it so difficult to help you? At one time there was a method to provide a donation. Heck, from the forum I can't even find a decently easy way to get to zabkat.com from the index or any page. Why do you keep it a secret? Then if the user is really determined they go looking about the ...

ESC/Cancel doesn't stop the Flatten Folder process

I selected a "few" folders and pressed shift-ENTER to put all the files into a single scrap window. I do this quite often as this is one of my favorite features of x2. However, in this case I realized after I started I didn't need that group so I pressed ESC to cancel, got the dialog box that stated...

Re: Browse to parent folder via breadcrumbs fails

clicking on the breadcrumb bar is the same as typing the (parent) path name. Yep. Editing the address bar to the parent name also fails. About 3 out of 4 times. Well, "working alternative" is a little of a misnomer. I usually try two or three times with the mouse before I realize I need to take my ...

Browse to parent folder via breadcrumbs fails

Using 3.3.0.2 Ult 32 bit on 32 bit Win 7 pro Browsing a folder on a slow network drive (transfer rates run about 130kB/sec - I think the server must be at somebody's house on a dial-up line  ). When I click on a parent folder via the breadcrumb, x2 displays "Reading folder contents...(ESC to a...

Re: Transferring files locks up X2

I've seen and reported this behavior multiple times. In my experience, the file transfers across a network are highly likely to lock up x2 for the duration or the large part of the time the transfer is in place. I've seen some cases where the transfer of many large files across home or work networks...

Re: Drag and drop Toolbar icons

Coppertop: Have you looked at using the MenuHack "extension" to create more generic toolbar buttons to manage dual bookmarks? I have these three user commands defined and as buttons on my main toolbar: Open DL (Open Dual bookmarks) >"{your path}\MenuHack.exe" 33180 Ognz DL (OrGaNiZe DuaL bookmarks) ...

Re: Icons specific to each of dual pane windows

Look at setting up dual bookmarks to open the desired drive/folder in each pane at once.

Re: blog: all that jazz

I don't think we are overlapping with any of you guys :) personally I find songs (with lyrics) rather pointless or better, not quite the music I have in mind. The less words the merrier. And you cannot do any work with someone distracting your ears with messages of one sort or another. If you can l...

Would love to test this, but the wise powers that be gave me a Core I7 laptop and a 32-bit OS.

Maybe when I get home tonight I'll try the test on the Win7/64 laptop.

Re: Open Source == rubbish

I was vaguely curious to see what tuxman was going on about but my curiosity quickly got killed with the warning :) It's probably dangerous to "smart" screen filter as it may have called out a vulnerability with their software at some time and they don't want anyone to know so they just black...
