You don't need a user command for the task here. Use MRename which is a shell-extension and gives you to opportunity to choose from quite a lot of renaming samples after a right-click on the selected files (MR Quickmenu). Mostly I have an instance of x2 running the whole day. Not much with opening and closing.

Since I replaced WinEx with it there's occasionally another instance when I insert a USB stick or similar cases, though. But definitely not frequently.

Maybe we should start to compare the individual environments and possible culprits somehow. Maybe somebody can design a checklist?

Hm, a little workaround could be this: Use a 2-windowed scrap pane. First you flatten one folder (the DVD I presume) with Shift-Enter or Browse Flat from the File Menu. (If you don't have 2 windows in the scrap pane go to that with Ctrl-O). Now flatten your other folder in the same way. I don't know...

This is a very low priority item.

The warning for large files opened by 2xEd is very useful since usually it's indeed a mistake (hit F3 instead of F2 or something).

But if you choose "No" wouldn't it be logical to close 2xEd entirely and not open an empty window of it?

Well, today the first time the bookmarks disappeared in my x2, too. Interestingly not all of them (I just had 6 and 3 remained).

I definitely didn't change the registry and have no idea what caused it.
