Re: blog: dark window theme

@Nikos: Have there been any changes to the way that this works from th time the blog was written? Specifically, can you adjust the actual UI elements themselves (slidebars, ribbon bg color, etc) to match the pane colors? Also, does the Windows 10 feature Night light affect this in any way? (I know t...

Re: xplorer2 v4.2 beta

I installed it. I was expecting the time thing to be a part of the 'change attributes' dialog box as well as through the shortcut, so it took me a while to figure out that I needed to enable ribbon and access from a different method.

Once I did, though, it worked perfectly fine.

Re: Any news from Kilmatead?

And my real name on my credit card is not John Galt, either, as I mentioned in a support ticket :P And I, too, have a twitter page (and many other social media pages) with John Galt as my 'name'. Doesn't really mean anything. But, the description does sound a lot like what has been told in various p...

Re: Any news from Kilmatead?

Ides of March

Haven't tested my DNA, but I'm pretty sure that I'm at least 98% Indian (as in India, as both my parents immigrated from there, and my Dad once did a family history going back 8 or 9 generations).

Re: Any news from Kilmatead?

I turn 48 this year. I always assumed he was older.

If he is right at your age, then it points more to the author, perhaps.

Re: Possible bug? Pin to Taskbar nonexistent WinX 18323

I don't think it has to do with anything other than explorer double dealing on itself. To convince yourself of the conspiracy, use any program's Open system dialog and check its context menu on a EXE file, you'll see the pin command missing as it does for xplorer2 I'm assuming you don't mean to che...

Re: Any news from Kilmatead?

A Google trail leads to this : http://source.southdublinlibraries.ie/bitstream/10599/4926/2/House%20of%20Corkagh.pdf The photos in there show ivy-covered "Kilmatead" and an 18th Century gunpowder mill which looks very much like the photo posted by kunkel321 and fits with previous posts by kilmatead...

Re: Possible bug? Pin to Taskbar nonexistent WinX 18323

windows explorer doesn't play fair, keeps some things to itself. xplorer2 doesn't know what goes in the menu, it just shows what the system passes on to it. Anyway, assuming that you are running xplorer2 normally (not elevated as a full admin), I don't know why this should happen. What if you first...

Possible bug? Pin to Taskbar nonexistent WinX 18323

Firstly, some specs: Xplorer^2 (ugh, I hate not having superscripts in the forums) version 4.1.0.1 ULT x64 10/17/2018 Single Seat license Windows 10 Pro x64 Insider Preview build 18323.1000 I have an executable in a folder (extracted from a .ZIP file) that I wanted to pin to my WinX taskbar. I know ...

Re: blog: cleanup bad quality pictures

Wait, backslashes are a problem in the SYSTEM() call?

Forgive me, I'm not trying to be an ass, but ... that is just odd. Especially considering that the backslash character is the basis of all Windows-based path statements....

Re: Possible bug?

Thanks for the confirmation, ff, and the technical explanation Niko. When I first saw the 'bug' was a couple of hours before I completed my post here, which is how I discovered the possible source. Luckily, that garish color scheme works well enough that I do not need to actually use the bold font t...

Possible bug?

So, I have Xplorer² set with a nice color coding for files that are both System and Hidden (to make me hyper aware of files that should not be deleted). (I picked a very garish yellow font on black background extending across all columns - yeah, not accidentally deleting these files lol). However, i...

Seriously, though, it's truly sad that he is not around.
