Ok, I was able to get it from snapdrive.  I'll install it and play with it some then maybe I will be able to find or suggest an alternative.

No, it needs a password.  If you click on the file it asks for the password; if you right click on it does not ask but it wont save either.

Considering the registry, it would be nice to get the perspective of a programmer:  What are the advantages of using the registry to store configuration info rather than configuration (ini) files.

While writing Menu++, I thought over this feature. Implementing x2's tokens in Menu++ would be like re-inventing the wheel. However, there is a very simple workaround for this. Create a user command that uses the x2's batch tokens. Don't add this user command to x2 toolbar, but add it to Menu++ con...

This is very cool.  I have already set up a couple of menus to reduce the number of user commands and toolbar buttons I had setup. Edit: Is there a way to access or send x2's batch tokens to the menu commands?  I have a few user commands that run in the current folder but use $I access the inactive ...

One of the things that just annoy the hell out me in explorer is that it does not have a generic view/edit file function that can be used on files that are not associated with any program (like F3/F4 in x2).  File managers since Norton Commander (and probably even before) have provided this capabili...

This "put renamed file at the end" behavior happens with the icons or thumbnails views but not with list or details. It happens with unsorted or with auto resort disabled. It is weird to have this inconsistency. The same inconsistent behavior happens in scraps also. When I need to manually...

Just setup a layout with auto resort disabled and load it whenever you want to manually sort files.  You can put it on the toolbar or assign a keyboard shortcut to it.

I use several different layouts on a daily basis.

Ctrl-Insert opens a tab in the active panel; Alt-Ctrl-Insert opens a tab in the inactive panel.  If you have a folder highlighted in the active tab then that folder is opened in the new tab; if you have a file highlighted then the current folder is opened in the new tab.

How about having the ability to lock the mini-scrap (or any scrap)? This would prevent Ctrl-S from sending stuff to a scrap that you are using for specific purposes.  This way some could use mini-scrap for temporary purposes (as scraps are generally intended to be used) but if others want to use min...

Create folder groups, save and then export.

After you install x2, import reg, run x2, load folder groups then save settings and you should be good to go.

From the Actions menu you can "Save settings now" and you can "Export settings" to generate a registry file.  The tabs can be saved with folder groups from the Customize menu.  You have to create a folder group for each panel. After reinstalling Windows, or with any fresh install...
