Re: x2Filter in v4?
One of m'lord Kilmatead's toys. He wrote it, at least partly, to organize filtering selections. I use the Unique Basename choice a lot. GM

Re: Blind feature ask for v4
Nikos, Not to be contrary, but understand that. I've obviously been smart enough to create a user command that copies all selections to a specific drive. So, I have, currently in my toolbars, buttons to fastcopy selected files to drive C, and another one for drive D, and so on till I hit drive X. It...

Concurrent v2 and TRIAL v4?
Can I run v2 and TRIAL v4 concurrently or is that a registry file dumpster fire in the making?

Blind feature ask for v4
I don't have v4 yet. Never used v3. Mostly because there was a mixup over ribbon rubbish and all that. My fault for not asking the right questions ESPECIALLY since Nikos was trying to do the right thing by me. But that's been cleared up and I'm seriously considering v4 for the macro capability. Of m...

Re: Power Loss means losing SOME Bookmark Custom Icons
Nikos, I know the drill. It's make change, Actions|Save Settings Now,Actions|Export Settings|Yes and follow instructions, Actions|Export Settings|No and follow instructions. As a result I have the two newest modified files, x2settings.reg and x2settings.ini. In trying to USE the reg file, I exit x2 ...

EPub and Mobi searching
Nikos, I see an upcoming Bits Du Jour sale. It's for LITE which you admit means a large percentage of your user base. But I would pony up for standard if DeskRule included EPub and Mobi searching as well as PDF and other sundry text-oriented files. I have a plethora of bridge files and convention ca...

Power Loss means losing SOME Bookmark Custom Icons
This problem is partially due to my own habit of leaving everything turned on over-night to do backups and downloads. If we lose power here for a long enough time, the power loss results in a computer crash that some programs don't handle particularly well. Not saying names BUT ... I've had a comput...

Re: v2 License transfer from XP to Win7x64
Well ain't I the village idiot. Had email exchange this afternoon with Bruno Fierens, who is a developer for Delphi add-in libraries and tools. I apologize to Nikos. (and if you are wondering just what the heck I'm talking about, I called Nikos, Bruno, earlier. I've edited it to be correct. Or I hop...

Re: v2 License transfer from XP to Win7x64
Thanks milord! I have continued to have some health issues, but I've got a doc who makes home visits and the regular nurse visits and I made it through that "almost kicked the bucket' experience back in the spring. That's left me almost no time to really learn that OTHER product. I find x2 v2 a...

v2 License transfer from XP to Win7x64
NIKOS, Lord Kilmatead, et al, My oldest client, one with a ... let's call it an aversion to change, has had the XP computer basically die and that means he had to get a replacement. That replacement is a Win7 computer running x64 OS. NOW, the trick is to transfer that license to the laptop. I've tau...

Re: ebooks anyone?
how's the batterly life? You can't beat kindle on that respect Nikos, Actually, the battery life is similar. The battery tests are difficult to even out. Boih claim nearly a month with 'regular' use. But that basically boils down to an hour to 90 minutes of casual reading during the day time. In re...

Re: ebooks anyone?
Bought a Kobo Glo, I really like its weightlessness and the backlit screen, fantastic invention that, great for night reading. I succeeded in grabbing hundreds of eBooks out of thin air which I then sideloaded via Calibre, but be warned, if OCD strikes you'll spend hours correcting the shyte format...
