I copied both the DLLs in the zip file to x2's install folder... now I get the same error but for this DLL: MFCO42D.DLL.

When I try to run the x2SettingsEditor included with this beta I get the following error: "This application has failed to start because MFC42D.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." I guess I can grab this dll and put it in the x2 install folder or maybe th...

That makes sense but is there a way to prevent x2 windows from opening on the secondary monitor (other than disabling it)?

Occasionally the beta x2 opens a new window on my secondary monitor rather than in the primary, where the main x2 windows is open.  The new Editor2 does this a lot and I have had a couple of scrap windows open in the secondary monitor as well. My secondary monitor is a TV, good for videos, but I do ...

I would be nice to have a useful tools sticky thread that would document utilities like Menuhack and Menu++ as well as any other tools we like.

The original message could have download links for the favorite tools and for menuhack and menu++ links to the original threads.

Most editors that are not simply trying to be notepad replacements include text conversion features: EditPad Lite, Notepad++, PSPAD for example. There are also many unix to dos command line conversion utilities that can be used to automate the conversion to that these text files are in the right for...

I do not think rodolfo was asking for x2 to unlock the file... just tell us what process is locking it.

I use a program called wholockme for this. It adds a context menu entry for files and folders.  It would be convenient if x2 would provide this info.

Another feature related to folder tabs is folder groups which allow you to save a pane's tab and associated folders so you can return to this configuration later.

Folder groups are available from the Customize menu.

$P is an internal x2 variable.  It can be used from x2's addressbar/commandline, in user commands, and from the script generator but it is not available from a batch file. Just create a layout which has "Don't lock browsed folder" disabled and use it to execute batch files. You can also us...

Well, now it seems that YOU are trying to kick off another registry/ini debate! :)

I agree, unless you decide to build a portable version that does not use the registry at all, it is not worth the effort.

No agenda, just genuinely curious.  I am NOT trying to kick off another registry vs ini file thread here.

So basically using the registry makes it easier to store and retrieve info as opposed to writing/parsing an ini file.

I think it should be in the table for completion sake. I do use this keyboard shortcut (CTRL+SHFT+ALT+<DriveLetter>) occasionally but I am more likely to just tab or mouse over and use CTRL+SHIFT+<DriveLetter>.
