custom columns - multi file multi-column editing? - attributes editing
Hi IS it possible to copy/move the contents of one file attribute to another? eg I have a lot of audio files where I would like to copy the "Album" text into the "Comment" column or maybe the contents of the "Subtitle" field into the "Description field. [1] I can s...

Column customisation - NAME column includes file extension
all the different available NAME columns include the file extension in the displayed information. I think I remember a time when I had a column with just the $B basename; so I could file rename without having to edit around the file extension. Can anyone explain what settings I have mucked up to loo...

Re: Keystroke speed
Thanks for your reply; it prompted my to investigate QuickFilter features rather than keystroke-speeds. I have been able to achieve part of what I wanted by changing Advances settings > incremental search auto-filter == 2 now my slow typing does not cause the focus to jump to some other 'random' fil...

Re: mobile phone storage - no folder sizes
Thanks for the work-around.
It's not as convenient as the normal display of folder sizes though; so can I suggest it for your list of future ideas please

Keystroke speed
Is there a way to adjust the keystroke speed settings required for file name search? example: In a folder with a 2500 files and with the focus in the active pane I can start typing a filename, and the focus will jump to the appropriate letter. I can then type the second character of the filename and...

mobile phone storage - no folder sizes
When I connect my mobile phone (& set android to allow file transfers) I can see the phone using xplorer2 within "THIS-PC". I can successfully drill down into the Internal-storage and into the SD-Card-storage. If I drill down far enough I can see file sizes. But Folder sizes are missin...

Custom color code Rules have disappeared
OH! I was happily using 4.1.0.1 x64 18/10/2018 when all of a sudden my screen flickered and then all the files colours reverted to black. Checks showed that All the rules (except 'encrypted') had disappeared. 1) what on earth could cause this? I then restored from my latest x2settings.reg expecting ...

Re: Native Preview XLSM Excel Macro enabled files
3.4.0.1 {U} x64 19/03/2017 also: If excel is "protecting" me for my safety ... it appears to be doing so by checking if there is the letter M at the end of the extension (which seems a little simplistic?) Although I use xplorer2 extensively I know that there are many features/functions/tri...

Re: Native Preview XLSM Excel Macro enabled files
Hi Nikos, Thanks for the extra help. I have fiddled with Regex and think I have done as instructed. Regex settings now look like:- x2scrap.png and x2scrap2.png I ran chkshxt.exe with the following results Shell extension information for .xls ... 1. TEXT FILTER ----------------- X64: %systemroot%\sys...

Re: Native Preview XLSM Excel Macro enabled files
there are a few ways around this, you can do your own registry modifications to apply the same preview handler to xlsm (copy stuff as they exist in xlsx). I have read several online articles and tried to follow the principles/guidance. Sadly I really don't understand what I am doing. Are you able t...

Re: Native Preview XLSM Excel Macro enabled files
To stop xplorer2 asking about downloads make sure you tick the previewer option "don't download activex documents" (see TOOLS > ADVANCED OPTIONS menu command and search for activex in the layout settings page) EXCELLENT. I had spotted this option in Advanced-Options previously but had not...

Re: Native Preview XLSM Excel Macro enabled files
Hi Nikos I understand that this is not a xplorer2 issue per se, I was hoping that X2 is so clever that there might be a trick so that when x2 'submits' an xlsm file to be previewed it pretends that it is an xls file. (OR is there a way to suppress the "do you want to open or save this file"...

Native Preview XLSM Excel Macro enabled files
When using Native Preview, on Excel files, If They are XLSM (macro-enabled 2010) files then I get No native preview, and a message window = "do you want to open or save this file" This is annoying because I have a lot of xlsm files; and the message window needs to be closed before I can co...
