this can't be happening!
did you have this problem in the past or is it new with x.33?

when sorted by name or extension, folders are always first
try using the "other" Name column which is further down the column list to see what happens

this doesn't happen on my w2000 this could be an indication of leaking objects during drag-drop, which a few XP users have also observed, or it may just be x2 being too touchy the only way to be sure would be to open a scrap frame, put in 2 files (each from a different folder), select+right drag the...

zipfolders will be sorted with the folders but there will be a registry setting to treat them as files, so everybody should be happy

i'm not exactly sure what joba's other problem is, but separate tree for each pane is not in the plan

windows explorer is a cheat it probably has to wait the same time but it sneaks in while you're booting up then, when it "starts again" it's not really a new process but a new thread, so the info is already available for instant access i bet if you try the new xplorer2 and use the clone co...

ok this is easier but you somehow convinced me that opening the subfolders of the active branch at all times is something that makes sense.
still, since i have no need for either this or the old procedure, i will oblige :)

while loading 2x opens the tree with "my computer" branch expanded, and that requires reading the mapped drives. There's no way to avoid this delay other than hiding the tree before exiting. But you'll have to wait this long anyway each time you want to use the tree first time round

hang on, is it just the first time you want it expanded or each time? And if just the first, what's the point?

there's a plan to use desktop.ini for per-folder settings, including view style, column selection and sort preferences

sorting is the last major thing that remains to be sorted out, it should be in for the next build

that's a good idea!
<shift+F1> would be useful if you went one too far with F1 and you want to go back without having to cycle all the way to the end and then from the start
i'll throw it in

the alpha version distributed is a "debug" build which is very slow due to extensive internal checks. Don't worry about speed, the real deal is extremely fast and small

dockable windows are in the pipeline (not for anytime soon though)

in x2 F9 is used for synchronization unfortunately you couldn't change F1 even with resource hacker i'm not sure what you mean with <shift+F1> re-binding if the first completion is not what you were after you can hit <F1> again for the next match. Your seed can also include wildcards */? the columns...

when you go to View | Options the number you have manually changed in the registry will get back to its original single-click+trackselect value, and to turn it off again you'll have to repeat the procedure. A bit of a pain but now you know the drill! PS there was a previous post for Zavarakatranemia...
