CNSZU i have to admit i think it is i who am stupid - i failed to consider complications to the scenario of moving files on the same partition such as you mention, and concede that in such cases the windows mechanism is indeed insufficient. i can understand your wish for a robust method in xplorer2,...

sorry, maybe i was expecting too much from xplorer2. i think the point here which fuxs explained is that to move a folder from one place to another on the same partition does not actually require moving any files at all... only the information that describes the location of the folder need change. ...

secondary stream warning - bit of a problem in mass copy!
while i do appreciate being informed that "secondary streams (e.g. file comments) couldn't be transferred to target", this becomes quite prohibitive to productivity when the operation involves many hundreds of files with such streams.... .... any chance this could be addressed with a 'don'...

the first thing i would do is check out the items in your 'send to' menu for something dodgy every item in this menu is actually represented by a file within your profile in c:\documents and settings\<username>\sendto, so browse to this folder, and perhaps try removing everything to another temporar...

in order to help pinpoint the cause of this cpu spike you might use process explorer from sysinternals. this will allow you to determine whether it is the x2 process that causes the spikes (you can look at the contributions to overall cpu usage even after the event) (an example of when this might no...

regedit can be disabled by a registry key - this will be how your regedit failed to work while at the same time registry activity is successful for applications such as x2 which run in the context of your username. this is because the api functions aren't actually restricted (at least not in HKCU) b...

standard windows - i don't have any custom stuff... i just hit alt-k, then pick track number from the list to add to columns, then use that column to sort... i have done a little more testing with a fresh install of xpsp2 under vmware to ensure it was nothing about my own setup, and i am able to rep...

sort by track number - now with bug?
hi nikos, i often add the track number column to folders containing mp3s, and then click the column title to sort by track number. i have noticed in recent versions (i.e. 1.6.5 and 1.6.5.1) that this sorting results in erroneous ordering of tracks with other files without track numbers mixed up in t...

to create a batch file to remove the reg key as described by wasker all you need to do is save the following command into a .bat file and run it : regedit /s remsettings.reg (where obviously remsettings.reg is the name of the reg file which you can of course rename to whatever you like) you could ev...
