Re: [Solved] v5.2 Robust delete dialog will not close automatically

It was happening without the box being ticked, I ran into the same thing but after a reboot it was fine also. I attributed it to my system being stupid and moved on- but I never, ever tick that box. Same way sometimes my profiles will start with the window font reset to 7 pt, when I specifically hav...

Re: blog: status bar explained

Ahhh, you're right, I was talking about the infobars under each pane, not the lowest statusbar.

My apologies. I should have seen the difference - can we chalk this up to my age?

Re: blog: status bar explained

I can resize them on my computer manually. The only problem I had is that, at one point, one of those panes was not showing all the content, so I tried and was able to resize it manually to show the full content (total number of items and associated size column, IIRC - but it seems to be with any co...

Re: blog: status bar explained

I'm surprised that there is no mention of resizing the individual pieces (well, I searched for 'size' and didn't see resize mentioned) in the blog.

Re: xplorer2 v5.2 (FINAL) released

This seems to be working fine now, without the craziness I've experienced in the past. Windows 11 has its own issues, in that windows that open on the lower resolution still have a weird overly large layout, but when moving to the 4K window and back, everything goes back to normal - and it is not an...

Re: Looking to replace graphics card in HP Pavilion PC 570 Desktop

I've posted this elsewhere but thought it couldn't hurt to try here also. I'm amused that physically installing a new card looks much easier that selecting one. My HP Pavilion 570 Desktop that I bought in 2018 came with some sort of graphics card installed and recently the fan has occasionally star...

Re: xplorer2 v5.107 BETA

Just now saw this. DLd and installed. Now, regardless of which actual executable I run it says I am running 5.1.0.7. At any rate - it's not working correctly. Sending pics via email. My current fix in Windows 11 is to use advanced DPI scaling settings, setting the executable to System (enhanced). Ev...

Re: blog: per monitor DPI programming

Glad to see this happening. Soon, it won't be as much of a problem as both of my monitors will be 4K, but currently, splitting time between a 4k and a 1080p monitor make all sorts of programs go stupid.

Clean install - and they both show as unregistered.

I was just expecting a command in the help drop down like in X2. I'll do the ctrl + shift + L thing.

Actually found that that setting was not enabled, and I thought I had already enabled. Enabled now and it does fix that issue, thanks!

Re: Windows 11 layout weirdness(es)

yes it extracts the entire zabkat registry tree otherwise you'd need one "confirmation" for each subkey! at the moment I am working on fixing multimonitor DPI issues so the next version should be free of big problems Well, I started rebuilding and everything seems to be working fine so fa...

Re: Windows 11 layout weirdness(es)

So, uh, in using my export of the 'broken' install that I remvoed a few hours ago, I see thath te .reg file has entries for:
  • Editor 2UC
  • xplorer2UC
  • DeClone
  • Deskrule
Wait, what? Why is X² exporting settings for DeClone and Deskrule? Is this by design?

How do you actually register it? I don't see a way to enter the key....

Re: Windows 11 layout weirdness(es)

Ha. It's been so long since I uninstalled X² that I had forgotten that it was so robust, asking to both remove settings *and* remove license separately.

Only entries left in the registry were MUI Cache entries, and the 7-Zip folders DLL.

Now, to start building again.

Re: Windows 11 layout weirdness(es)

sometimes porting profiles from older computers gets in the way. In such a case do a fresh install of xplorer2 and let it figure out DPI automatically So I did another clean install of Win11 on my system, as I got my hands on some upgraded SSDs. Lo, and behold, I had issues again - a couple of prof...
